Acually. SEVERAL days, indeed months, go by, between 'child kidnappings'.................you have obviously bought into the Tabloid-fed hysteria about the largely imaginary outbreak of paedophile criminality.
I suggest that you get better-informed before here repeating such arrant nonsense..............and do a search- this has been discussed at length and ad nauseam, many, many times before.

The train driver died years later from leukemia according to TV programs I saw. But yes it is true that he never got over the trauma of what happened during the robbery. However the sentences were more to do with them making a mockery of the police and Royal Mail security. I doubt the authorities cared about the poor old driver....They were more worried about the theft of the used banknotes which were being transported to be burned BTW.

Several other prominent US citizens (see Sotheby's, e.g.) have been given such derisory sentences, while teenagers from the 'wrong side of the tracks' are routinely executed.
And yet they stand still for it................more proof of American stupidity? Or is it just callousness?

There is STILL an instruction in force to the effect that the driver of a Postal train held at a Red must IMMEDIATELY contact the Signaller..........although now it's for the ?1000-per-minute delay penalty, rather than the thought that the signal has been fixed.
The only thing carried on these trips nowadays is containerised mail (i.e. bills).
And I used to work on the TPO's, as well, back in the 'bad old days'- and never feared for my safety.....
