Christina Bell

Post by Len801 »

In the late 1980's F.J. Lincoln shot in Paris back-to-back 3 movies: THE CONTESSA, CLINIQUE, LAST RUMBA IN PARIS with pretty much same cast (mostly American male-female porn stars and a couple of euro performers).
They did not get a wide release (by VCA) in North America at the time, and I would suspect they were not considered great movies even at the time. It appears the 3 movies were shot around 1989 but only released years later around 1992 for some strange reason.
In the 3 movies there was a female performer who was billed as Christina (or Christine) Belle, who did not perform hc sex scenes.
IAFD only has her for these 3 movies, with no head-shot photo.

I was able to locate some caps from THE CONTESSA movie. She seems to be busty, average looks, long black hair (could be a wig).

I did not find any Christine(a) Bell in EGAFD, and I am wondering whether Bell was only used for those 3 movies (as Lincoln's special favor to someone) or whether she may have done other porn work in France/Germany at the time under perhaps some other name.

Looks like they were so taken with their non-sex 'starlet' they put Vic Paris on
the covers instead : -)

Doesn't seem familiar, even subtracting that ghastly black wig. US, I'd guess,
maybe the then GF of some influential porno-potato.
Might just be worth listing 'Clinique' for LV, assuming we could ever get a
look at the film...... interesting from a historical viewpoint, though.

'Last Rumba' was posted on VEF but the links are dead- as if I cared : -)

Denaniel added some comments to the thread but they don't add much to
what you've already written.

Lincoln had been going to Europe to shoot movies there in the early 1980's (no clue what drove him there, as his work there was not any better than his US oeuvre). Maybe he needed a vacation now and then. Nor do I understand why he (and Henri Pachard) had to assign themselves non-sex cameos in many movies. A bit of vanity no doubt.
One of Lincoln's first movie shot in Europe (Germany) was GO FOR IT (1982) which not only featured Teresa Orlowski, but was one of the first US movies featuring she-males (in this case the blonde Shannon).
Why those 3 movies shot around 1989 sat in the shelves for long I have no idea. But Victoria Paris was quite popular at the time, so I can see why she deserved to be the box-cover girl. I never got to see them as they never made it to my neck of the woods, but VCA was a big distributor at the time, so just the same they did not give them a wide release from what I can see.
It seems sufficiently evident Christina Bell is wearing a black wig in THE CONTESSA, and I have no clue as to what she looked like in the other two movies. Either she did not want to be recognized (maybe she had a legitimate career, or perhaps a hc career under some other name) or maybe she was assigned those non-sex roles as a "special favour" to Lincoln.
The pedigree of these 3 movies is rather curious. Shot (back to back) in Paris, by an American movie director, with mostly US male and female cast, in English dialogue and subsequently released in the US by a US distributor (VCA). I don't know whether they were released in Europe at all. However, what is a bit murky, is where Lincoln was getting his financing to produce/direct these films (these 3 and others he shot in Europe throughout the 1980's). For instance the production company of "record" for THE CONTESSA was ST. GENERALE DES FINANCES. Did this entity really exist, was it French, was the name just fictitious and thought up just for tax purposes? No clue....

... enough material there for a thriller.
Throw in a spy, and a reference to the Knights Templar, and you've got Dan
Brown beat hollow : -)

Lincoln s dead now, and I doubt whether he would have wanted to discuss:
(1) How Christina Bell got cast
(2) How he financed these 3 movies or other she shot in Europe, who paid for their accommodations/travel costs, etc(the American performers shot other movies there during these trvales),
I have never been able to track down a photo of Lincoln's ex, Patty Rhodes.

She's supposed to have a NS role in 'Roman Holiday'. I assume you've checked
through that?

Alas, it's out of print and it did not get distributed in my area at the time. Essex was not a company that had a good distribution network in my area at the time, so it never made it through in my neck of the woods.
I liked everything with Porsche Lynn at the time, but I could not stomach much Barbara Dare. It would take sometime to explain my indifference to her (her aloofness, her dull Vivid output, her association with lame/limp Bret True, her refusal to perform with black performers etc etc etc, that pretty much says it all).

The VEF film-page has some screens, 4WIW.

I think I have a copy somewhere [obtained for La Divina Jess, of course- but I
wouldn't turn down PL either].....

There seems to be floating on the web some extremely poor quality rips from what appears to be the Italian VTO (VHS) version of ROMAN HOLIDAY.
Aside the poor video quality, it seems to be a rather dismal production. Lincoln looks ghastly with white pumped-up hair and dark glasses, Rocco Siffredi with full head of (dark) brown hair.
My only curiosity was to see Patti Rhodes and it is not worth trying to seek this title out for any other reason (Sharon Mitchell and Barbara Dare I can really do without).
