I wish you could help me finding informations on this french actress.

I spent days checking photos in EGAFD's pages but found nothing so far.

Maybe you have seen her in some french porn or adult magazine, probably during the mid/late 80's - early/mid 90's ?

However I am somewhat puzzled by your statement

What is the source of this statement that is ascribed to director Beno?t Jacquot?
What was the context of such a comment, when and where did he make it?
You must understand that often when regular people and traditional media often refer to someone who has made erotic movies, that she is referred to as someone who is doing "porn", or a "porn actress", they are NOT necessarily referring to explicit sex.
And yet, when people in the porn business refer to porn actresses, they may soften the work reference by saying she is an "adult actress" engaged in "adult movie business".
It is rather amusing and confusing at times, depending on who says it and whether the person really understands the terminology and context.

About the statement, It's said in an interview (in french) of Benoit Jacquot and Virginie Ledoyen found in the DVD as a bonus.
They talk about the movie for about half an hour. They come to talk to how the "sex scene" was set up.

Translated from french, they say that the scene was performed by "a hardcore couple who was doing sex for real". If you watch the clip of that scene, it "may" actually be explicit sex.

I tend to believe that statement because, the guy in that scene is Rick Richard and has done hardcore in the late 80s early 90s (he is in EGAFD's database).

So I assumed that the girl was a porn actress too.

I can't speak for the DVD bonus and the comments that were made by Bernoit Jacquot, since I have not seen it or have access to it.
From the poor quality of the clip you linked and its brevity you can hardly tell some evident explicit sex (vaginal penetration) is going on.
IAFD probably does not list ALL the hc films in which Rick Richard appears, but the handful that are there show activity around 1991 and mostly in Italian porn movies. Whereas the mainstream LA FILLE SEULE was released in May 1995 (probably shot in 1994), and Richard is billed as Herve Gamelin (perhaps his real name?). In any event based on that brief clip alone, Catherine's character in the movie is extremely annoying, and the maid should have slapped her silly before she left the bathroom.

But Catherine (as Catherine Audrey) did several episodes with Richard/Herve around 1993 in the EMMANUELLE TV series. So perhaps this is what Jacquot may have referring to, that this couple was a "porno couple".

Perhaps if you examine Richard's (additional) porn and softcore work you may be able to discover whether he may have been cast with "Catherine" under some other alias.

I have to admit that you may be right.

I really enjoyed her in the Emmanuelle TV series, she has such a great body (it's my opinion). So just wanted to see more of her.

After watching La fille seule (a good movie by the way), I thought she was in the "adult movie business".
At least, her appearance in that movie allowed me to see her facial features clearly in order to identify her in EGAFD's pictures base or somewhere else.

As you suggest, i will continue to search in Richard's filmography and see where it leads.
And who knows ...

By the way, there are so many actress without pictures in this site, one of them could be the one I'm searching for.

I do not wish to belabor this point, but I suspect the director may have said in the DVD bonus, in French: "couple porno" or "couple pornographique"
I'm not up on current adult porno talk in France as I do not reside there, but I suspect you would say "soft" (as I believe that is the case in Italy) when referring to "soft-core". "Erotisme soft" or "soft" may not sound that great when referring to a "porno couple", and I think it sounds better to the tongue to say "couple porno[graphique]". Whether it conveys the same meaning is another story. But soft is soft and hard is hard at least in the English sense.
"Porno soft" and "porno hard" may sound great in France when speaking of a movie's general content, but when referring to a couple that performs explicit sex may be what exactly?
In any event, I am not that familiar with French porno of the early-mid 1990's and I have no clue whether this Catherine may have performed in any hc movie. I would wager that if she did did any hc work around that time, you may probably findit with her friend Richard
