i use vlc
i make snapshots ( but for the right snaps (caps ?) face, tatoos, piercings it takes a long time (for me)

I have seen rows that take a picture at certain times of the film. is there a freeware tool for it?

I don't use it, but here is a list of some available. There are probably more,
but I didn't search.




They are good for a quick overview, but if you make a film review it's
definitely necessary to make single caps.
If the girls are well known and the gallery has enough images it's
sufficient, if you provide only one or two good caps.

If she is a unlisted girl or a girl with an entry here, but there are no, only
few or poor quality caps in her gallery, you should definitely make
some caps of her, which can be used for the gallery or/and for identifying her.

Sometimes it need some time to make the caps, but if you have capped
a few films, you will be more experienced and it will be done pretty quick.

Btw, a fine software to manage your caps is irfanview (freeware).

For screenshots I recommend the MPC.


It has a single picture option and hence allows to create a decent shot
out of, let's say, "difficult" sequences.

There is no visible degradation of quality on your caps and it spares you the ever
apparent pains of "twisted" Aspect/Ratios.


You may use irfanview, like Deezer suggested, to manage pics or as I do
the marvellous "paint.net"...

So do I. It is a mite tedious, doing caps in real time, but it gives
better control in terms of shot-selection. I then edit (crop/resize)
the raw caps with Irfanview - submissions to the forum don't require
this treatment, of course.

Media Player Classic is free, and a standard for making screenshots.
It works by time-interval so there is no control over the images
generated. It's fine for accompanying uploads (on VEF, for example)
but is not recommended for submissions here, except for general
illustration of content.

Which imagehost are you using? I notice that the caps you've posted
are very large. No biggy, but it does make reading the post rather
tiresome.

Please bear in mind I'm not recommending MPC as cap-generator.
It's ideal for selected, manual caping.

Thumbnail gallery like the pic in the anja thread:

I use Video Thumbnails Maker. It will blur one pic with a logo in the freeware version.

Settings: Same as original. Depending on source the material has 4xx-7xx px - so ideally 3 x tiles (fits on 1920 screen). If resolution is lower than 4 x tiles.

Y-tiles as many as possible. Pic has to be under 10 mb to upload it on imagebam.
Ideally remove filename - timestamp is optional.

Good thing with this approach is - if there is a good shot in the gallery you can extract it.

For manual caps I use VLC. Has a decent slow mode and a shortcut key for screenshots.

If some shots are super hard to get - virtual dub. You can create loops and also hit exact frames with it. Even frame-by-frame is possible. But is is more a reencoding software, no a video player.
