Web site design rule number 1

Do NOT put a 'fancy' background on your site which
makes it difficult to read the text on top of it.

This is one of THE basic web design rules.

You have a black background, with white writing on it,
and on top of that you have white writing.

In fact your site looks like it was the first attempt by
someone who has never designed a web site before.

Flashing multi-colored text, different fonts.

So that is your first try, now please go away and
re-design it.

odd that this site's been up for a while now and you're the first to complain at all. maybe they decided the content was more important than the appearance. beside that, i can read every word there so whats your problem? maybe glasses are the answer.

Here we go again, lets jump down the throat of someone stating the obvious.

"odd that this site's been up for a while now and you're the first to complain at all"

Or it could be that nobody could be bothered?

"maybe they decided the content was more important than the appearance"

Well if you are saying the content is good then there's no need for a reply. If you are saying the content is bad it takes us back the the first question which again would explain why no reply?
The site does not have the look and feel of the other many producers on these forums. I'm sure anyone would agree it has an amateur edge but then again it's done by an amateur who admits he isnt a web designer so why jump on Guilbert for stating the obvious? If you view the site with high ress you will note that the text is not centered and aligns to the left. If you minimize your browser the graphics & nav bar layer on top of each other and become impossible to navigate but this isnt a bad point it's just how it is. The original post asked everyone to take a look and so promoted the trailers on the site. So the site was created by the same people who created the films and therefore will be judged as is. If you like the site the films will be fine but if you feel the site is a little lacking in effort the films may not be to your taste.

If you ask people to look they will but don't have a go at them if their answers don't meet your needs?

And nothing wrong with that but could there also be any points learned from what Guilbert said. I found another posting about web style design in the archieve and many of the web masters replied but if you read their comments you may agree with Guilbert?

just appears to be someone not happy with the site has had a hit-and-run insult at the webmasters expense.
constructive criticism is welcome, insults aren't
