kendo is absolutely right!
where marino makes a valid point in saying that certs wont wash away all the ills of the day, they do remain our greatest health protection!
it is a risk business but there is a moral, ethical need to minimise that risk!
faking cerification is despicable and utterly immoral.
for the record...if it happened here at our studio, i would consider a far more draconian course than witholding travel costs.
in the common interests of all the performers, many of whom, i consider to be personal fiends...i wouldnt hesitate to name and shame!
HIV and STD Tests
Re: HIV and STD Tests
We all agree here the need to make things better, lets hope we can bash our heads together and come up with a good plan. I fully support Kendo and all other producers, it's really up to the guys and gals to realise how lucky we are to be able to have free sex within our industry, and just about what you do in private and how it may affect you.

Re: HIV and STD Tests
There are kits you can get with instant test results.
Regarding the various health professionals who may wander onto this site they need to get their house in order. There is underground industry and people working in it are concerned about the health issues. It does not help matters when entering these public centres, the private ones are a lot better, and you are confronted with a really bad attitude from so called doctors and nurses when you either tell them you want full written results or you tell them straight it is for the adult industry, they look at you as if you have came from Mars!Get your act together guys and grow up.

Hi Happychappy
Please don't think that I was trying to criticise the UK adult film industry, it's far more aware about STI's than the UK swingers scene, and in the vast majority from what I understand, models are careful and get regularly tested.
And you're right, the NHS isn't adult friendly. Apart from the normal disgust they feel the have to show (whilst buying the dvds in their private time), and their general complete misunderstanding of the industry, they don't feel that it's their job to provide tests so porn stars can work, especially considering the current funding and resource problems.
I know a few doctors who personally who think that anyone should be charged when they receive negative results if the test is required due to unsafe sex. Personally, I think that's rediculous and would only put people off getting tested.
I can see where they are coming from though, when you've got restricted funds, the decision of where to spend the money is very difficult. My son whose one on Saturday was born 2 months premature whilst I was seriously ill, he'd had to be moved to a different hospital because the neonatal unit had run out incubators and we're at full capacity. He was even transported by the UK's only neonatel ambulance which was funded completely by donations.
Personally, I can't comment on how the staff I worked with would handle adult industry workers, as we were never aware that any of our patients were, although I suspect a few were.
Overall, this as Kendo says, is a matter for the industry to sort out, because if it doesn't, and there's a major outbreak, it wouldn't take much press leverage for the state to consider regulating testing of the industry, which I'm sure the industry doesn't want. Now that means both models and producers working together to ensure their own safety.
I recently watch a documentry about a testing clinic based in the heart of the american industry which I thought was a great idea, does anyone think we should have something like this in the UK, and if so, how many of you would consider using it?
