I think richystrub was using the usenet convention of adding some crap (in this case NOSPAM) to an email address to stop 'robots' from harvesting and spamming via email addresses. Richystrub has actually emailed me before ,but I don't know if he is tony blair ;-)

Richy is definately not Tony Blair. The real Tony Blairs posts to this forum are very long winded and full of spin. He will ask about a video then slip in some dig at another regular poster called Ian Duncan Smith. And Tony uses a completely fake addy unlike the one I am using today.

Yeah I agree but as you can see my point the very fact of posting an email address gives sod all credibility to to a post as setting up an email address is a 2 minute job.

"Sorry, Buttsie, but you're missing the point here. If we were to all hide behind false or hidden email addys, then automatically ones' posts loose a bit of credibility, surely, and people would post crap for much of the time. For posters views or opinions to really have clout, a valid email addy. gives that cred."

But before at 2.59 he posted trying to hide his email address, then immediatly posted a semi reply to himself at 3.03 showing full contact details.....now if that aint strange im a dutchman
(sorry Hornetbloke no slur intended).

Anyway Im getting bored of this....nowt like a debate to wake you up on a cold winters morning....must go I have 11 hours spamming ahead of me...........LMAO.

Well, no, I'm not Pres. Tony.....fortunately, Joe. Its worth my pointing out that I don't usually insert NOSPAM, except when making a point.

Exactly! Which is why whenever I post on Usenet and forums I
use a bucket address that I (almost never) look at. Any and all
shit sent their, including Ms Martins invitations to rate her
pics, are routinely ignored.

:-)

Section of the FAQ has
things to say about 'commercial' posting activity. Spamming
forum users (who's Email addresses have likely been harvested
from this forum) should by extension be covered by the same FAQ
argument.

In practical terms, posting a site link to the forum and then
posting the same site link to forumites emails is 'repeat' and
unrequested advertising and therefore definable as SPAM (IMHO)
and I can't say I share Cornish Chris' 'laissez-faire' approach,
but his priorities are probably different to mine.

I was simply offering a simple immediate solution

In my book there aren't problems only solutions...the solutions might be unpalatable but they get the job done

Credibilty on an internet forum....an interesting idea

I post with an email addy an look at all the crap I've posted already...imagine if I hid it...smokin.....somebody stop me...lol

cheers
