I do Not Like Being Called Liz, Michelle or anything else that is NOT Elizabeth Michelle Lawrence...

Re: My Name!!!!
Just to play devils advocate, when you recive your payment, and you sign the model release you give them legal right to call you whatever the hell they want!
Re: My Name!!!!
Yep got to say I agree with Snow Patrol... plus thats one long assed name you got there... I wouldnt put that in one of my films (yes so I know that means you wont be wantign to work with me)
If the producer feels your name will do his title credit of course they would want to use the name... but as I said I think you picked a name way too long... it's not like Lolly Badcock, Poppy Morgan, Angel Long... all pretty short and memorable...
But hey its your name and your right to get pissed if you want

Re: My Name!!!!
I think alot of people do that to models so they can own the domain name of the stars in their film as an additional marketting strategy.
Like if I called izzle lizzie bizzle and register izzlelizziebizzle.com when people search the net for that name, it would point to their film site to sell more, thats what some producers in the states did way back until therewas a backlash and girls stopped working with them, and there is evidence of it happening in the UK.
Have you checked if thats why hun ?

Re: My Name!!!!
I would say that that would depend on the wording on the model release Snow Patrol.
My model releases require the models "legal name" plus it also asks for their "prefered name for publication".
It's the latter that I always use and I feel that I have an obligation too (even if it may not be a legal obligation).
Therefore, if the producers have similar on their model releases the names the models provide should be the names the producers use.
Just my 2 penorth.

Re: My Name!!!!
Not that I am a director or producer but if you cast someone well known like Elizabeth, wouldn't you want to promote the name she is better known as? eg Elizabeth Michelle Lawrence? Prospective customers looking at a DVD box or website will be looking for names they recognize aswell as the look of the models. Surely you would want to use Elizabeth's real name for the extra sales ?? Or am I naive!

Yep, I Actually agree dude, dont get me wrong... BUT... The key word here is preferred... There's no legal obligation... Moral / Ethical then yes I agree...
But a model release in itself basically says that you are selling the footage images etc, to be used in whatever way the producer wishes... Unless it specifically says, 'but you must use this name' then there's not a lot of room to negotiate with...
Perhaps EML should add that cause to a model release herself?
And also, just talking realistically, it IS a very long name...

Re: My Name!!!!
I would go that route but then her fans will know here, be she listed as 'izzle bizzle' or 'lizzie lawrence' or Mischa Jones, people will talk about her under her real name.
Look at Jade Jagger, everyone still uses both names, so its just as good a marketting ploy.

Re: My Name!!!!
True, but going by the name of Jordan Jagger when doing porn was Jennifer's idea, the name wasn't given to her by a director without warning. So its a slightly different thing

Re: My Name!!!!
It was more an example, than exact thing, more to illustrate that the name is irrelevant, she will always be referred to at some point as Jennifer, as will EML even if the producer calls her Mary Jo Bob.
The point was, Jennifer, Billy Bob, Betty Boo or Jordan, her fans will know its her, and will talk about her either way, and let everyone know its her.
The BGAFD will list a pseudo name on her profile and list the film under the girls chosen name, as will other sites of this nature.
The forums around will list "Jordan previously Jennifer AKA Billy Bob".
So no loss at all there, however if you own the spelling of the name you use, then its a reasonable bonus because everyone who looks for Billy Bob Jagger will get Billybobjagger.com and that will be a front page that leads to the producers/films website and a good point to try and sell the film, as newbies won't know if she is in anything else.
Thats more what I mean.
Personally I choose whoever the biggest name is in the appropriate country and thats the name that gets the top billing, but should I want to open another advertising door like some UK companys have already, then I'd change the name to a domain that I own.
