Hey Chuck I see why Renee is dealing with it this way. I think its a civil way of getting the person she is talking about to step forth and see the error of his ways without being overly confrontational about it.

I'm sure the BGAFD doesnt want to be a stomping ground for an industry fight either.

Civil approach first then if that doesnt work, a straightener on the cobbles later. Sounds about right. Though we wouldnt want to see it come to that right?

Hi Renee,

This ruse of "Payment in 28 days" cack, should be viewed with the utmost suspicion at all times. If you are a "Producer" you should have the resources available in order to honour your obligations at the time of fulfilment.

I have produced for many large companies over the years and never have deferred payment to models.

By the way, a "Slander" is when you say something about a person which is incorrect and defaming. When written it becomes a libel and if what you state is correct and can be substantiated, it is not libellous.

Paul, while I understand your intentions are good on this have you ever thought that people posting what they want may have negative consequences for those concerned? Including you?

If a performer has a personal issue with a producer and spouted lies for instance. How would you know it was the truth or not?

Its quick for people to start mudslinging if a said person is innocent of the claims just because it was a personal issue (this has no bearing on Renee or this thread by the way).

I'm just saying that allowing libellous posts on a forum makes you just as culpable as the person dishing it out is all which is why I understand the BGAFD dont partake in these sort of things.

Renee is right not to name names and as she said, all you have to do is email her direct to get the answer.

Thats not the same as directly shouting it out on forum seen by the public. if you made it a password protected forum it might make it a bit more protected but I know I would be on the warpath if someone was spouting malicious stuff about me and not only would I go after the person that said it but the person who allowed it to be said, as I'm sure you would too.

Just a thought is all.

wow this seems to be have a go at paul week so far and not just with your comment on the forum, just everything in general.

My intentions mean well and I dont want to come across as someone forcing people into spilling the beans on people. I have considered that some people maybe inoccent and lies can flare up.

I just hope and still believe it will do more good than harm. You will never stop nasty people spreading rumours about people, whether its in my forum or not. I won't however be blamed for what some else says, just because I host the forum. I do explain that any mud slinging or people being nasty, and I will remove the post, its not a complete no holds barred forum where anything goes, far from it. Things will be taken down if they go too far or if someone is being picked on for no reason, even on here it has happened and the threads have quite rightly so been taken down.

Maybe I'm a stupid out spoken geordie who has no problem with shouting to the rooftops about anything that happens to me and want to warn others. I am asumming other people will want to do the same, but maybe they would rather remain quiet to protect there own careers or for the fear of being acussed of making up lies when they arent. I dont know.

You have a hell of a point in what you say, I always seem to see the best in people and maybe I am incredibly stupid thinking that I can trust people to be desent and only report only the truth and do the right thing? I keep getting told it's my downfall and have even lost money because of it in this industry for being too helpful. I'm a idiot I Know.

Just the e-mails I get sometimes like the way Renee has done, letting people know in private is a really good way and very caring and prespectful way, I just think out of the e-mails I have recieved, I think people have the right to know, as nothing is done about it, where if it was public, people would realise that it can get out and may stop people doing things like ripping people off, not turning up for shoots etc.. everything that if kept in private, will not solve anything.

I dont know its just what I think I am very hard faced and I think it would be a good way for people to find out things. If there is only one bad post on a certain comment, and know one else comments on the same problem, 9 times out of 10 it isnt true and even then people dont have to listen. I do it myself I get told of a model letting someone down and then I still book them because they are right for my site.

I do have a locked forum, but that is for a trusted group of producers I know personally, and doesnt show at all if you are not a member of it.

Having said that there are loads of other threads, I do not want the focus of the forum to be on the bad.

There other threads can just be as important

Models looking for work, Recommended models, Recommend model agencies, Producers Tips, Models tips, Shooting locations etc.

I'm a fair and honest guy and just hope that my forum can be of use to people in the industry as I said.

Hope you don't tell me off at the Party one eyed Jack, as I dont want to cause trouble for people lol.

Thanks for your input, I think we both have an opinion at seprate ends but both fair points none the less. However if people think I am doing wrong and most of the members of the forum doesnt like that side of the forum for the potential for untrue things posted then I will gladly remove it, I want it to be a forum people want to visit. So please let me know I am just the Administrator.
