Fantastic Pics Simon with quality like that the lines between Camera and Video Cameras are indeed getting blurier.

What about going the other way? New DSLR's from Canon and Nikon have got quite good HD functions and companies are making adapter kits to make them a bit more Video Camera to handle.

They lack saturation and contrast - compare them to your stills and you will see that your stills jump out of the screen in comparison !wink!

I just creamed my y-fronts, I was playing with the EOS 5D mk2, which along with 20mp+ sensor (full frame), it also shoots Full HD video.

I may buy myself one for christmas, I just worry that I will compare my 5D Mk1 with my 5D mk2 and will want to buy anothe 5d mk2, and then theres the thousands of pounds on new glass. I MUST resist!

The nearest a camera has come to both is the XL2h (i think), the Hi Def canon with interchangable lenses, you can put canon still camera glass onto the video body with an adaptor, it also captures still at better than HD.

I personally think Videographer and Photographer are much like Designer and Coder, people only specialise in one or the other, you have people who are good with both.

Nah, Photography requires 100s of calculations, attention to detail to make sure hairs are in place, shadows ae not cast, perspective is maintained, aspect is correct, skew is neutral, aperture is right for the depth, shutter speed sufficient, there are 100s of calculations that arty types don't get unless they are shooting full auto.

Screen grabs from an HD camera have saved us many a time.. Its amazing the quality of some of the HD cameras now. I still love stills but i can see why people just use screen grabs..
