HELP..!!! Edited Tape Back Onto Camcorder.??

Post by TonyT3003 »

Hi Guys..!!

I shot some amateur footage on a small Sony DV camcorder (mini DV tape),
I've edited the tape..."great I thought" now all I have to do is record it back onto a new mini DV tape in the camcorder...easy I thought.!! 3 Days and 3 migrains later and still going around in circles....HELP...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The camcorder has a DV port and a A/V port, the manual say you can.....but every effort and research is saying NO way...????

Cheers

Probably a DV Out only camcorder.

As RGB says is the DV connector on your camcorder definitely in as well as out?

The manual may cover a range of models hence it describes how to record from another DV source for the models in the range with DV in enabled.

For both the JVC and Panasonic DV in/out camcorders I have you put the camcorder in play mode, not camera mode.

Connect the DV cable and set the source playing the video.
Once the video you want to record is showing on the camcorder screen (DV devices can take some time to decide to talk to each other - I have waited at least 5 minutes) go back to the start of the source video then use the camcorder remote control Play and Record buttons together to start the tape running.

Sony have to be in PLAY MODE.

Do a search on your model number in google, you'll find a spec on it as to if it will have DV IN.
I can find a spec on my sony DCR-PC110 and it will tell me everything it does despite it being a 2001 model (still a great little cam)
