By conflating porn with hatred videos in a public survey, ATVOD came up with some impressive statistics to justify their existence:

? 77% of British adults think hardcore porn videos are easy for children to see online
? 88% of British adults think it is important that UK websites offering porn-on-demand are required to take the steps set out in the ATVOD Rules and Guidance ? such as restricting access, to credit card holders or by checking information against a reliable database, e.g. the electoral roll - to ensure that under 18s do not normally see hardcore porn material
? Women are particularly concerned, with 94% saying the measures required by ATVOD are very or quite important (with 82% specifically saying they are very important)
? Overall, 69% of British adults say the measures required by ATVOD are ?very important?
? Views are broadly the same for adults with or without children

Yeah...What about the tube sites and filesharing?

Maybe that 94% dont realise that a majority of porn is downloaded or watched for free from tube sites and file sharing

Yeah but theyre not because they are about as effective as protecting children from seeing porn as long as tube sites and file sharing is allowed to exist and flourish unchallenged outside of ATVODS control

You notice the angle here is about protecting children but not the backdoor approach to controlling information? Porn has always been the litmus test of freedom and the saturation of it proves the internet is free from control. Thats the price of freedom but the one thing those who are trying to control seems to let the real problem go ahead and unchallenged....I dont need to repeat myself do I?

It seems to me that ATVOD controlling the internet at a local level will not make any impact in fulfilling its remit at all so therefore it must be a giant waste of money and their time except its just a cash cow for them to make money for nothing

Heres the real shocker as I let the boogey man of child porn out the bag. If you took away all the porn in the world the people would find a way of creating it where once before they were sharing it.

Most of the child porn produced may not be from the perverts themselves but also the kids taking the self pics of themselves and sharing it on the social networks.

I wonder what studes would find if they looked into this? I saw a report on the BBC with regards to this matter about people finding explicit images posted of themselves on social networks and committing suicide for the shame of it.

Eloquently put Terry, though I dont think you understand fella. Its not a waste of money. The ATVOD board table is the finest mahogany, the soft leather chairs in the boardroom are very expensive items.
Come on dude, someone has to foot the bill for such items. Hands up for volunteers!
