You're missing two points, I think.
Firstly, the issue of gender is part of a continuum, not an either/or option. There was an informative C4 doc last week on this topic.
Secondly, a couple of 70s TS'ses are already listed here, so the precedent seems to have been set.
If a performer chooses to categorise themself as female (within reason- I wouldn't expect Marino to get a special mention just beacuse he has long hair and occasionally wears tights.....), then the least one could do is give them a mensh here.
There are a couple of US girls who don't do penetration on film, but DO fuck boys, with strap-ons- which by your logic might exclude any future Brit performer with a similar modus operandi from mention here. They would certainly LOOK like girls, but would be acting like boys. Therefore....
Confusing, ain't it?

To be fair, I don't think anyone's arguing about whether JJ (nice initials, BTW....) has a right to POST here: the issue is whether she 'qualifies' for inclusion on the DB as a female performer.
Iafd, for example, puts TS performers in the 'male' category, largely I suspect for convenience rather than out of any prior logic.

I disagree ,
It comes down to cocks and cunts, not gender .
you might be a female performer who has never taken off your clothes and you might just make films showing your shoes or sitting fully dressed in a paddling pool of beans , but you are a female actress making adult films ,if your a bull dyke with croped hair a footy shirt and jeans or if you are using a strap-on to shag a bloke or a bird your still an actress making adult films , and therefore relevant to this forum , if you have a cock your a bloke ( I hope I did'nt offended any Hermaphrodites but you can go fuck yourself anyway).

Many of the world?s cultures recognize more than two genders. The notion that there are those of us who do not fit precisely into either a male or female role has historically been accepted by many groups.

Among Native Americans, the role of third, fourth, or even fifth genders has been widely documented. Children, who were born physically male or female and yet showed a proclivity for the opposite gender, were encouraged to live out their lives in the gender role, which fit them best. The term used by Europeans to describe this phenomenon is Berdache.

JJ on the set of " spunk covered wagon "

I have no strong bias either way (ahem), as I've said before.
My personal preference is to go with the actor's' self-designation, and let anatomy go hang. But in the end it's (hopefully) just a matter of taxonomy*.
BTW, I made an error- it has been pointed out to me that the TS listed here is a POST-op one, so anatomically female (well, up to a point- but isn't that what this is all about?).

*No, Elton, that's about stuffing things.......and not in a nice way. At least they're (hopefully) dead..........

Hi,

As I have already offered my thanks for alfie for bringing this subject back up, I could not resist to also include a bit of a pitch ;-)

- Would Mayfair have published a double-page spread for someone they considered as male?

- If a shemale in just a thong is virtually undetectable from the real thing, does that not make her more of a girl with a cock than a male with breasts?

- Is it really possible to feel that outraged or sickened by an entry in the BGAFD that includes (TS) after a performer's name?

- If the porn industry has already classified transsexual videos as being a niche product within the mainstream market and accepted as having no relation to the gay market, where is the harm in also including transsexual performers in a mainstream listing?

- Does the thought of clicking on a girl's name and finding out that she has a cock really so distressing? After all, hasn't everyone seen everything on the Internet already?

As my challenging questions may suggest ;-) I do consider joining the ranks of performers on the BGAFD as something of worth, but I also accept that it is the opinion of fan members that hold the greatest influence and I will bow down gracefully if things do not go my way.

Wether the outcome is good or bad, what you can be sure of is that I will still remain as an opinionated and persistent presence as being 5000 miles away from good old Blighty means fuck all on the Internet ;-)

Is there going to be a vote about this or something? It would be nice not to have the same argument every 6 weeks.

FWIW I'll vote for Joanna because I've seen her stuff and I would like to be able to look her up and see what else she's done. That's a good enough reason for me to vote for her.

Hi,

"Joanna Jet will never be accepted into the mainstream adult press, such as Mayfair, Playboy that kind of thing, the public is not ready for such a move, so Joanna Jet will always be sidelined into a small section of the adult biz"

Mmmm, correction. I am on a double page spread of Volume 38-13 of Mayfair (the Xmas 2004 edition).

To this date, out of a readership of 100,000 for that issue, the publisher has only received 3 complaints about my appearance in the mag.
