Or in my case, get a cat.
Do you find people treat you a bit shitty as you're not one of the "mainstream players"?
Seems to be a thing between pro & am.

I am one of the mainstream players but i don't shove it in peoples faces 24/7, if it comes to film sales they know i'm on par with them which pisses a lot of them off. Each week we have amateur people coming to us with their films that are brilliant but because of the very closed shop which forms the UK industry most of them will never reach the public just in case they turn out to be competion.

I meant mainstream as in the pro & am stakes.
The clique get all shirty with it.
For example, if I was to create Holden's Harem, I'd get called a cock for daring to try it.
Not that I intend to.....

got have a go at this one, lads, JP don't know why they don't slag me off or down, could be a few reasons one is most of the guys and girls in the industry I have helped at some stage, another I never ripped them off even if the deal was not that good I stood thew loss. So there is not much of a reason. Another is I do carry a bit of respect worldwide and always introducing companies to each other and visa versa. Could it be I am just a nice family guy Maybe I check my facts with a mail or a tel cal before I post. I can do that not many can. Non of the industry big names have done me any harm they have always played fair and I have in return.
Maybe they know I am quite a face person it means a lot I don't like loosing it so I stand up for my rights and strangely weaker peoples, quite a few times I have knocked fik out a bully or a shithead. I don't give a toss about much as a kid I played footy in N Ireland while loons were shooting at each other that was my holidays, still go back there when I can, I even have my plot in Ballemenia Graveyard when I get to my big rest.
As for punters most of my mates are, If I am late with an order or whatever I send freebies, at the shows I give aways loads to the guys its my way of saying thanks for buying. I always have time for a fan,
As for the elite crew,,,probably, but I suppose thats normal you get used to the old faces, like slippers they get to an age when the fit just right. I don't suppose its that different in any other buisness. How do you get in, if you want to, then you show a bit of respect for your elders, thats what I was taught. No one gives a toss about who or where you come from, race colour or sexuallity. I don't give a toss about whether a girl is a supermodel or a housewife from Bolton. Thats why I put up a good show, Remmy has made me hump some seriously ugly women, and I loved it. Its about personality, you are either cool or not its that simple for me.
As for Unit/product sales and changes you have lost me Kim I just do my own thing but if I was you I would not boast to much about selling 60-70 thousand DVD's of a title because thats a lot of tax to pay if Mr VAT comes chapping.

I should have stated in my post that it was certain people in the industry who had an attitude and not all, yourself, Marino and a few others seem to converse easily with the Joe Bloggs and others seem to hold them in content.
Always liked yours and Rem's movies, can I ask you a question, I seen you in a movie (I think it was you) with an older Glaswegian lady who shall we say had seen better days, behind the scenes was Rem pishing himself laughing and what possesed you.

That wouldn't be Lanarkshire TV would it be per chance, i think Shotts was the only town in Lanarkshire that couldn't get it despite being 1m away.
I used to stay in the street across from the Bon Accord but moved away a few years ago, the noise of Pipe Bands got too much.

Take a chance & do what you feel would or could sell, as lot of people know who advertise or read on this site our door is always open to anyone who wishes to get into the business Pro or Am.
I know our stuff is cheap & cheerful but that is our intent, after years trying to get into the business we realised we'd been there for years already as amateur was & had always been in fashion with gonzo & reality which people love, if you spend 100's or 1000's making a film i ts the content thats the major key & this is the point. We compare ourselves say like 'Amstrad' giving customers good films made on the cheap compaired to other Pro companies 'Sony' giving glossy films with actors & actresses that the normal men, couples couldn't relate to knowing they theirselves could never be in that situation to have sex with a girl/guy like that.
With ours,Terry's,Marino's,Christine's etc the girls are the sort that would live next door so this then makes them real.
There is no 'Pro or Am' only film makers doing what they do best like 'Marmite' you hate us or love us & its this that makes a British industry, if you have anything to voice let it be said without others trying to lord over you making feel small or out their league.
