Ever since I discovered that the incredibly naff music on my second-ever Fiona Cooper video was identical to the incredibly naff music on the first, I have got used to watching all porn films in silence.

You are all correct, of course, dubbing is even worse than crap music. But even when I get a movie with real sound, I tend to get bored with that long before I get too familiar with the action ? so, once again, I watch it with the sound off.

There was one exception to this.

Many years ago ? presumably around the time when Ben Dover fell foul of the law ? a friend was given several of Ben?s films to review for a video magazine, and lent them to me.

In an effort, presumably, to raise some (legal) dosh, all the hardcore stuff had been edited out.

This meant that, for once, I got more fun out of listening to them than watching them.

I have to say, they worked surprisingly well.

Have you ever thought of working for radio, Ben?

Just a thought?

The sound does not really affect the film as most people watch the tapes at night while mum/wife is in bed so the sound is down or off. Unless you buy some heaphones..which brings me to a very funny letter I had...
Imagine young guy in front of tele watching Marc Dorcel movie heaphones on and volume turned right up. He is beating himself half to death trying to time his CS with Christof Clarkes.
He fails his CS was to soon, he turns round to get towel and there is a mug of red hot Horlicks on the floor behind him...
Views please..
