It is upsetting that you think people aren't genuine just because they have more money then you do, and are better looking. You may be cynical, but please keep it to yourself.

To Wireless Mast...

Wendy DID call personally to speak with me and that was greatly appreciated... as did loads of others in the industry. It was I... MYSELF who chose to post here to say a thank you to everyone as I couldn't call everyone back or did not want to stay online long enough to answer all of the emails...

So thank you again to everyone who has written or called!! It is YOUR kindest that creates the spirit allowing those who suffer to survive!!

Mike

I watched the news come in disbelief, Stewart my old buddy was flying out to San-Francisco earlier this week and it brought the whole event very close to home. I also have friends in NY and took pictures of that building with Remmington standing in front of it only a couple of years ago. I have watched the reports come in on CNN/SKY etc as I am stuck in the edit suite and I wish I could find the courage to switch it off. I know most of the UK industry have contacts in the States and I won't speak for any of them as I am sure they will join this topic...but for me I am glad someone started it as I wouldn't..but now it has I think it shows firstly this forum is more than just a few punters complaining about bad tapes it is a meeting place for loads of like-minded people and for some its very personal....to all my American friends, some I haven't even met yet my thoughts are with you all.

VERY VERY SAD WHAT HAS TRANSPIRED IN THE U.S.
YOU GUYS WHO HAVE DIFFERENT VIEWS ON THE SITUATION,HAVE ALL GOT VERY VALID ARGUEMENTS,BUT YOUR TIMING ON THESE MATTERS LEAVE A LOT TO BE DESIRED!!!!!
AND TO ALL YOU PEOPLE WHO HAVE GIVEN YOUR HEARTFELT CONDOLENSCES,MAY I SUGGEST YOU DO THE SAME WHEN OTHER MANMADE TRAGEDIES OCCUR IN THE WORLD,AND LET IT NOT BE "OUT OF SIGHT-OUT OF MIND"
AND WE AS THE HUMAN RACE HAVE THE AUDACITY TO LABEL OTHER FORMS OF LIFE AS "ANIMALS"
SAD VERY VERY SAD!!!!!!!!

It struck me as quite poignant when I saw that this thread had started, and I would like to add my name to the list of people expresing their feelings for those in the US who have suffered the effects of the outrage.
It saddened me to read the garbage from Mr. Mast. I guess that we have to make allowances for the arsehole factor at every turn of the way.....

There are some interesting views expressed here - but I don't think this is the time - nor the place.

I agree, and I think that's a valid point to raise, Scottie. Where is my outrage over the 160+ people who are said to have died today in Christian/Muslim fighting in Nigeria? Where was my grief over Chechnya? Genocide in the former Yugoslavia?

I'm a hypocrite of the highest order. I'm shocked and really am upset in a way I haven't been for a long time when it comes to world affairs, but I'm upset about this yet casually overlook other world tragedies.

Shame on me.

And shame on all of us who think in the same way.

I'm going to make a concious effort to become concerned about things outside of my immediate vaciniy from now on.

I agree with wireless on both of his statements, why did our concerned friends have to include their website addresses?

In the past i have worked with people with mental health problems including a gentleman who served in N Ireland, during his tour his land rover went over a land mine he managed to survive (despite horrific burns and mental scarring) but at the cost of watching his friends die.

The USA have funded the provos, propped up regimes, carpet bombed thousands, fuelled tensions in the middle east due to their support of isreal (who with their history should know of the evil of facism)and didn't the CIA train the number one suspect?

In all they have reaped what they sowed.

Ps Im sorry i havn't a website to plug.....
