Yes but if you don't comply to US regs, they say you are not allowed to sell to the US market. This includes websites, DVD, video and magazines.
How the US would enforce it, is another matter though.

From what I've read, 2257 doesn't cover foreign web sites at all, there has been some talk of US sites going offshore to places like Panama. But I don't know what happens in the case of a foreign site hosted on a US server - some hosts may just not want the business for fear of the legal implications, maybe people will need to host in Europe at more expense.

Difficult to see how they could enforce US customers not seeing UK websites. This is the sort of thing that happens in totalitarian regimes.

I was initially worried that those of us who host our sites in the US would be put under pressure by our hosting companies to comply with US legislation, but I notice that hosting companies are explicitly excluded from any responsibility for their clients' content. I hope tas is right; this could be good for UK site owners.

All the same... were moving our servers out of the US.

I haven't really looked into it, Matt, but can you get decent server deals outside the US?

I had a server in Holland a few years ago, but I then moved it to the US becase of better deals. I am going to keep both of my US servers until things become clearer.

Shop around and you can get a great deal if you don't go through a re-seller :) Holland do have some big pipes and great connectivity.

If they can't use non US girls, and can't simply shoot overseas, how do they stand re content they buy in to distribute?

If they can do that then there could be big opportunities for good Uk producers who can shoot in the US style to get series contracts for US distribution, which would be good for the UK industry.

Or am I just dreaming....
