Read the post, Rimbaud. I said "its TV money", ie the money from people paying to watch content on the room tv.
Many, many mainstream companies now make money from porn. I am sure Mister MacCavity knows much more about TVX than I do, but I somehow doubt that he knows everything (though I am sure he will correct me on that in his subtle way).
Going into Europe peddling soft porn is not a good business proposition. In fact, its a very bad one.
If you're a betting man I'll wager you that within three years TVX will either be delivering hard material, or will have left the market.
The fact that they haven't yet contacted Britain's greatest porn producer means nothing. They know it'll just take a phone call when they're ready. That's if they want his stuff, of course.

The Europeans buy more soft porn than we do. They buy more hard porn than we do. They just seem to buy more porn, possibly because it's more freely available.

Similarly, no one has even mentioned this channel to me, though i've also seen the trailers, which are straight from the digibox service. I also haven't been asked for a hard version of my shows

Rimbaud, they do NOT buy more softcore than us. Apart from the dedicated hardcore channels (which you can legally subscribe to anywhere in the EC including the UK & Ireland) every country in the EC (apart from Germany, UK & Ireland) shows hardcore on its normal movie channels at night. Spain have 3 channels which show non stop hardcore 24 hours a day. These chanells are sponsers of footbal clubs etc. If you look at the players shirts you will see logos for Tele+, Canal+,D+, Canal Satellite etc. They all show plenty of porn and are considered respectible enough companies to sponser big footbal clubs. Also France Telecom the French national phone company and owners of Orange play a huge role in porn by satellite. In fact the hardest ever porn chanell (Bizarre) rented thier sattelite transponder from British Telecom. Plenty of huge British companies make money from hardcore.
Finally answer me this. Why is your average European hotel customer going to bother with a softcore station when there are 12 or more others showing hardcore?
Sorry to rant on but I know what I`m talking about when it comes to satellite. The only reason soft channels survive in the UK is that people do not realise they can legally and cheaply subscribe to a hard station.

Woodgnome, this is a pay site right. Are you saying they will have a store selling these on vhs for people who are not members? I remember Marino saying a while ago that his RT movies would probably be sold through this site. Will they have a mail order address for cheque payments?

reviewing their mail to us, it isn't made clear one way or the other. i suppose my assumption was, they'd be available through licensed sex shops.
might be worth contacting the riley webmaster, for the inside dope.

So how come whenever I go to Europe, which is often enough, their news-stands are packed with softcore porn, and every hotel is showing it? It's a myth that more hardcore porn sold means less softcore porn sold.
by way of example

It is certainly true that a market for softcore does exist. I suspect some people find hardcore too obvious. Remember the joke about the sailor who declined to go out with his mates on reaching port? He said he'd stay aboard and wank. That way he got a better class of woman.
Softcore is often better quality than hardcore, which is why I think it is a harder market to address. Such words as style, subtlety, and finesse don't spring readily to mind when considering the output of some of our UK product. This is why I think TVX will, if they have any sense, leave the soft market alone, or, horrors, not buy from some of their usual sources.
