i my opinion these things ARE THE best
As stated earlier in the thread the american series are quite poor with one or two exceptions (gauge) immediately springing to mind
Of the playhouse dvd i own i would rate them as
1 Alicia Rhodes (Excellent role play in sweet & slut + double bj w/ Issy Ice)
2 Natalie Heck (Great accent and dirty talk + Les w/ Jemstone)
3 Angel Long (Could have been higher if ruder)
4 Michelle Thorne (The first in the series may have been better if others had been done first but a good entry none the less)
5 Mackenzie Lee (Unusually compares badly to the US Digital Playground version

I think I'm also speaking for Mark Cremona when I express my feelings of gratitude for receiving such acknowledgements for the efforts we made.
Production-wise, a virtual sex production really is a different ball park for everyone involved.
Not every ultimate fuck slut will qualify for the job. There has to be something special about her, and we need to be able to transform that into a great user experience.
It is physically very demanding for the performers, not only because of the length of the filming sessions, but they also have to be constantly aware of the concept while performing. I guess sometimes it's like a filthy yoga training on a boot camp workout level.
The stud has to be anonymous and dead quiet, even at his own cumshot after his cock has been tortured to the point of a climax over and over again throughout the day. Poor fella.
When, even under these circumstances, everyone is willing to go "that extra mile" (favourite quote by Mr. Cremona), something beautiful comes out every now and then.
The double BJ scene on Alicia's Virtual truly has become a classic.
With every new production I pray for such a momentum to come.
Editing and authoring-wise, these projects are no less than a challenge and must be the ultimate playground for any editor/author out there.
Technically it requires a certain level of skills, but overall, finding the right "tone" to match and max out the personality in question is perhaps the biggest challenge. It's not a formula that (once succesfully applied to one) can be applied on all of them. They (the girls/personalities/performances) all differ from each other, and every new title has to rival somehow with the previous one. Results may vary...
I'm pleased to find out the Natalie Heck virtual is received quite well.
It's the only one that wasn't shot & edited by Mark Cremona, but shot by Disanto & edited by me. Which was a first for the both of us, and quite a learning curve for each of us, and apparently we did quite well.
In terms of interactivity, within the concept there is still plenty of room and ideas for taking it to the next level. But the limited capacity of a DVD is a real problem for us at this point. We already try to give you as much footage as possible without sacrificing quality. I'm already working on a solution. Maybe by changing the concept, maybe by dividing the concept over 2 discs. Dunno yet, but you can probably expect some crazy stuff from us, not on the next virtual, but perhaps later this year.
