I'd have thought MBNA was a major issuer

It's not filth - it's adult entertainment and quite legal. I think you've got a guilty conscience for no reason. I'm sure they were looking after your interests rather than wagging their finger at you.
Someone used my card for online gambling last year and nicked ?500 off it. Barclaycard wanted to know all the details of my recent transactions including some CCBIll and other porn processors and weren't bothered by them - I got my ?500 back the following week.

This is obviously still niggling you, Mysteryman, !grin! so I've looked up the decline reason on my CCbill control panel - it was "blocked country" - you possibly hit the wrong country in the drop down menu on the sign-up page.

Not niggling me, just pointing out the vagaries of the system!!
I didn't hit the wrong country BTW - I tried to join using the card more than once on the same day, eventually using the Euro card.

same happened to me, but they ask you for a matter of protection.
i have just been done on one card for $2 ?? i cancelled the account but within a wek my other card was done to the tune of ?8500!!!
Without these sorts of questions i would not have known about the card cloning. so i am very much in favour of the questions they ask, it is in your interest.

I dont know why you were embarrassed, they can't see you and they probably deal with porn stuff all the time. Also, luckily he did tell cos it looks like you wouldnt have found out that they'd been pinching money.

I was just talking about this with a freind yesterday. Paypal have a strange policy.
You can get away with it if you sell adult related material such as sex toys as long as you are not showing one being used. NOCHEX has the same policy. You can also get away with it if your main business is not adult related.
I tried a different option out last year which I nearly used on my website called adultXXXcard.
You can buy numbers which are electronically sent to a member to allow them access. However, on the bill it's not related to adult sites.

I've had the same kind of bullshit several times
I've always responded...when i get my monthly statement if there are any irregularities I'll let you know
I mean really...who keeps a track of every purchase made on their Card in their head for immediate recall
