Sorry Paul I didnt really answer your post fully.

Unless you have the marketing and strong distribution behind you I honestly dont think there is any real profit in high budget stuff these days but then for some production companies it has been about vanity rather than profits.

I certainly dont think spending ?50,000 on a production is wise unless you have buyers on board before you spend this kind of cash.

I know several big name companies that are in financial schtook for big budget productions. If they were doing well they wouldnt be in the jam they are in

The thing about making movies is that everyone makes what they like (or at least tries to).

Dave it doesnt matter how great you are as a film maker. It just depends if you can sell your weight worth in units that counts.

There are plenty talented producers around not even breaking even on their product.

Why waste your talents in porn? Go for the mainstream man!

thats what I try to do Terry, I do shoot the type that I liked to watch, however I do believe there is a market for my style.

I seem to be doing ok, not amazing well but its early days. I have been shooting for 5 years now building up my material so I could give it a bloody good go, which I believe I am.

I pay the going rate, direct well and I dont seem to have any problem getting models. It turns out that showing clips and stills from my shoots over the years even before my site was built and has only been up since Feb of this year turned out to be a great long winded promotion of the site.

But I agree with Terry it depends if your audience wants to part with their cash to view what you have. People who like the polished look will not like my stuff and vice virsa.

I keep going because at the moment and its early days but its worth my while.

and Terrys advice to me is keep doing what I do,so I you know what Terry I think I will :0)

Stop being a hired gun dave. Invest your hard earned int your own projects.

Ownership is everything.

Make a good movie and you can still sell it over and over again. How do you think I'm still here? DVD sales? Ha..Not likely

Ive said this many times before but If I was srtarting out now, I wouldnt bother and thats weird since there are more girls than there ever has been right?

Its just alot harder starting out now for all the other producers who are around shooitng the same girls with the same guys and no matter what the scenario, no matter how plush and hugh or low end it is still just porn. And thats all it ever will be.

Doing something different is a misnomer with porn. I'm sure there are plenty opportunities to make a living through media if you wanted to Dave...Heres one. News cameraman. Dont they need them all the time, all over the place? Not much fun if you have to dodge bullets in Afghanistan mind but thats one idea.

Life is bigger than porn..So why am I here still? Well I love it and its been good to me all these years and yes I would love to do something that is a departure from what i do but I am constantly so busy I think I'm a lifer in it .

If you werent doing well Paul and losing money hand over fist and your vocation was not paying for itself then that would be a sign that maybe you should be doing something else but if it aint broke, why fix it?

As I said. Keep on doing your thing man. Dont listen to the naysayers, especially when you know people are keeping your wheels greased by paying to watch your stuff.

Terry always a gent, you are cool man. Yeah the Naysayers think POV/GONZO is for amateurs however I class myself as a professional and it is just a style at the end of the day that is the norm in the USA. But I know what I am and why I do it, to make a living not get by make a living and so far I am.

I am still a young man so hopefully have time to look back on things and get out if it goes wrong. But at the minute, things are good man.

Plus the new girl I'm seeing is cool with it, thats a even bigger plus lol.

must try and make a UKAP meeting, my best chance was last Friday however if it wasnt for the train I could of made it if I hurried.

But I got to talk to you, Dave and Jay K so I did get alittle info

just hard living so far up north.

why would anyone want to set there minium payment to $25

can't understand why it would be that low couple hundred seems ideal, then again it depends how often you want transfers going into your bank account. I prefer larger amounts at a time. If the amateurs want a hobby to make abit of money why not just use something like adult work as thats what alot of people use it for right? It seems like a long winded thing to do to set a site up and get a payment merchant.

I didnt even use adult work to fund my shoots in the 4 years I was shooting. I just wanted to get enough material to start up and then continue shooting all time once the site launches.

I personally think its great that we have smaller producers going out and doing there thing. ( we just had davesyoungsluts.com just launched last month)

It may not fall into the mega polished look that some people only glass as proper porn because of the budget and everything else is just amateur, but there is something inspiring about a smaller producer making a living out of out of a site that gets plenty hits on their site.

Shows they have worked hard for there reward of loyal members.

I think thats the best thing about british porn, you have your producers on so many different levels and the reason I decided to give it ago,I'm young enough to change to something else if it doesnt work out.

Thats what Terry has always said, its all porn man.

Like I said Terry, I'm tired of trying to find 'normal' camera work. Mention what you've been doing for 25 years and they're not interested - plus like you I love the porn game here.

As for investing. It might help if I had something to invest in the first place so thats a non starter.

But please this thread isn't about me. I'm not looking for anybodies sympathy - just their money !
