For me, condoms are the biggest turn-off in porn.
A little while back I bought a copy of 'Secret Garden Sex' and was overjoyed to find that Laura Jones was in it. Then the condom made it's appearance and my heart sank with a resounding thud. It was great to see Laura doing h/c (has she done any more?), but the condom really took the gloss off her performance. (So did a certain Ms C Barry's head when it got in the way of Laura's one brief moment of oral!!!)
If condoms were the only way of persuading the likes of Natasha Vale, Tamara Noon, Andrea Spinks or Chanta Rose to go h/c, I would probably consider buying one vid of each girl, but only one.
Chanta I know is a no-no anyway, but the other three have all done b/g h/c for stills, so why no vids?
Basically, it would have to be VERY high-profile girls, like the Adult Channel presenters, for instance, to even tempt me to buy. Even then I would be very selective.
I don't know what the statistics are, but my guess is that most of the US porn stars who got AIDS got it from swapping needles, not having sex.

See my previous about the iafd 'statistics': not a comprehensive sample, but instructive nevertheless.
Vila's view is exactly mine: I'd possibly buy the one for curiosity's sake, but not come back for the long haul.
The VD argument is asinine: nobody'd last 5 minutes in "the Business that we call Porn" with a Clap Clinic Season Ticket. Never heard of precautionary check-ups (and ABs for the unlucky!)?
This seems to be more a matter of educating people about the risks, and informing them of their choices, than a sensible approach. Haven't come very far from the days of 'Crabs off the toilet seat', have we?

What does Cathy mean by 'all big companies' in the US insisting on condoms? Aren't Anabolic, Hustler, Elegant Angel, or Evil Angel 'big companies'? They are closer to having a NO-condom policy.
The only big company I have heard of having an all-condom policy is Wicked, who are very 'respectable', and dominate the semi-softcore cable TV market, but are regarded with contempt by real porn fans (i.e. wankers like us)!

I have given my comments about this topic before on this site. Porn with condom is unreal and dishonest. And it is not the problem itself. Missing education and use of drugs are the problem.
The basic problem for getting more women into this industry is another problem. It is the missing respect for women of most of the companies. I get more than 90% of the woman I meet in my life to do porn, because it is depends if you can show her respect and find out about her fantasies.
If I meet a woman in public and she turns me on, it took me 2-3 hours to get her interested. And most of the time it was not a question of money either.
The fact was, that this was my fantasy and finally hers.
But of course, this was in a time, where a woman had a lot more selfrespect. And the puplic was not exited about a pussy, they was looking for something special: personality in a woman.
I am a porhographer. All I have done in my life was because I love woman. And I threated them like a Queen. Everyone of them.
A Happy New Year to all of you

They will be: a blanket rule pro-condom will kill the industry as, at a rough guess, 70% of (UK) punters are anti-rubber, and we can assume a similar majority over there. The Yanks may be stupid, but they're not suicidal.....what's more worrying is, if this insurance thing is kosher, that the prices may rocket. Either way, a rocky time is coming.

Cathy, this is totally correct. As I mentioned before, this is a alibi, none of the companies cares about there actors.
The only think they are afraid for is that they can get sued. If there would be an institution in the world existing what sues a goverment to create war or other polital conflict, the world trade center would still be existing.
This is America. All what counts is the money for them.

All that will happen is that the yanks will come over here and into Europe to shoot their porn, if the situation in the USA get silly.
