What disturbed me is that she said that vanessa freeman was murdered by a "prostitution client" Hasn't that been dismissed as incorrect a long time ago?

I couldnt agree more with one eyed jack.

Watching the video the one i found most sad was Lea De Mae, I read up on her tragic death afterwards and she really suffered but this was a terminal illness so no one could blame the porn industry.

I think a lot of the porn stars that have committed suicide would have done so if they were in porn or not, for example check out Jon Dough on wiki and he was abused as a child so would've had some serious issues that he maybe never dealt with? dont get me wrong this is awful and i genuinely feel sad for all of the stars that have committed suicide etc as most of them must've had really bad experiences and lives in general.
I think this is why the film as a whole made me feel sad, not because of the general 'porn is the devil' type attitude but just to think these people became that depressed that they turned to killing themselves.

I hope that all came across right, my basic point is that its sad but as one eyed jack said it happens everywhere in every walk of life.

Looking at the deaths in this clip, most were caused by drugs,of one kind or another,or vehicle accidents. As is suggested in the clip, this is just the tip of the iceberg, and mention few Europeans, who have died, who worked in the biz.I do know several performers, now retired, who are in a pretty sorry state. Some blame porn for their troubles, but they all had choices to make.RIP.

Interesting work... how about making one showing photos of people who have been sexually abused by priests? Bad taste? Yep.

Well on a visit to Rio Mariah's place the other day.. She showed me the video.. I had not been on here for a while..

I was deeply saddened to see some really beautiful people dying... Fucked up.. Yes Very!!! But that's life.. And we all learn to move on.. The world is going mad.. The entertainment industry is a world of it's own, but it's just unfortunate that the porn world is seen at the bottom of the food chain when it come to public options...

Sex makes the world go round & if you take that from some people what do they have left???

I have had my own encounters with the general public & to my face i have been told i am vile & should be disgusted with myself for doing such a degrading job... I don't look at this industry as that at all.. I think it's the bad people in the industry that gives us a bad name.. Porn for woman i think it is a empowering & we can do anything we chose.. I have never been forced to do anything i am not happy with...

As Terry mentioned everyone has a choice..

I had a choice when asked & don't regret it at all!!! I have enjoyed the people i have worked with & many have inspired me to continue in the industry..

The entertainment industry is a school of hard knocks.. It can crush dreams as fast it makes them.. Sometimes egos are dented by knock backs & with added problems of not or no work it can be to much for some people.. As we all know a girl has limited time in the industry so when that runs out where do they go?? What do they do??? I believe in the idea of what pink cross does (Helping Pornstars back to society)but not the bible bashing that goes with it.. We have our own Pornstars that need our help.. 1 of them is a crack head & living on the street of Nottingham.. Who if not helped WILL surely die & soon.. I don't know why we can't all pull together & help each other rather than saying someone else will do that..

Haley was a friend of mine & i loved her dearly but i was told she had a long history of drugs which i couldn't believe.. As i never had seen her like that when i had known her.. I was also told it was a boyfriend that got her onto that shit... Sad..I shared a bed with her while i stayed with my agent & she was one of the sweetest loving girl that i have meet.. May she RIP.. Love You Girl..

I hope we can learn to help each other in the future..

Heartfelt words that are validated all the more because you've lived it, seen it and then some EML

What you said lends a lot of weight to what I said.

I think I know the girl you are referring to in Nottingham and to echo your words, it is true, she will die if not helped but the fact is she has come out of the industry and been on a downward spiral ever since and I can honestly say it has nothing to do with porn. Hell I could blame it on another aspect of the business but then that would be wrong too.

The reason why no one will help her is simply because junkies (for lack of a better word) are a liability, emotionally draining, time consuming and have a destructive effect on the person caring for them. Thats why no one will go out of their way to help her.

Sorry for the harsh words but the only way you help people like that is not with patience and love but knock them spark the fuck out , throw them in a van and get them into a padded room and on treatment.

The mental come down for a person like that is the equivalent of living in hell and you will get all kinds of abuse thrown at you.

This is hard for a parent to take, so how do you think a mere friend from the industry will help?

You dont and you can't. Im sure there are people qualified to deal with this sort of thing but I will hold my hands up high and say: Im not one of them.

The moment you are on that one way ticket to hell through drug addiction and street prostitution, you not only lost your soul but its the hardest thing to come back from and while I wont say its not impossible, who among any of us here is capable of helping a person like that?

I am saddened by that girls plight but if we are all really honest about it, she is dead already and nicing up words is not going to solve this problem.

If she ever comes out of this on the right side I will actually say those words to her that I passed her off as dead because I've seen it happen several times at my own cost, not theirs, so excuse me if I sound rather bitter about it but thats the reality to me and suggesting otherwise is a big fat pipe dream.

If she wants to live she will come out of it but wow she will have a wealth of experience of it if she does.

Yes your right Terry but it's about human kindness...

I know how it is to live with a Heroin addict first hand, my brother is one of those unlucky to be addicted to this horrible drug but he's seeking help.. I know many have tried to help her but failed..

I was using her as I example, she may be already dead but I was meaning in general we need to help those that haven't got that far & helping each other not just ourselves.. x

I currently live in a city where survival is a daily occurence. It adds an unnerving edge to life yet a pleasure to know you're a survivor. Every day I see tragedy and ugliness that I never thought possible in a real world.

I am sorry for the lives lost on the link to this thread but they all had a life, however short or tragic we may deem it.

As for the Nottingham girl, I dearly hope we're not all talking about the same person. The one I knew was abused by her father and it's him that should be added to the list of 'past on', not her!

I have just been viewing the You tube video.
As an outsider i don't know anything about the porn industry but please bare with me and my comments.

First of all I feel sorry for anyone who has lost their lives, but has "OneEyed Jack" says this looks like it's from a Anti-Porn campaign site, and it's made to look that it's a large number of porn stars have lost their lives.

I just wondered if the same rules used on this site were applied to the Music industry or even the main stream film industry what the numbers would be.
In fact I see yet another film actor died yesterday to add to the ones who have already died this year alone. Many though drug overdose

Yes it is terrible.

A dark cloud hangs over the football community:
John White killed by lightning on a golf course aged 27
Tommy Caton dead of a heart attack aged 30 from drink
Paul Vaessen dead of a drugs overdose in his late 30s
Peter Houseman killed in a car crash aged 30
Duncan Edwards killed in a plane crash at 22
etc etc

A dark cloud hangs over the music community
Marc Bolan killed in a car crash aged 29
Janis Joplin dead at 27 from heroin
Brian Jones dead at 27 - drowned
Jim Morrison dead at 27 - drowned or was it drugs
Kurt Cobain suicide in his 20s
Mel Appleby, dead at 22 cancer
Aaliyah, dead in a plane crash at 19
etc etc

A dark cloud hangs over the film community
River Phoenix dead at 22, drugs
Heath Ledger dead, drugs
Corey Haim, dead at 37 drugs
etc, etc

If you look closely enough you will probably find a dark cloud hangs over the shelf stacking at Tesco community or any group of people or any profession.

It is easy to pick on porn. Very few if any people are forced into it - it is their choice.

Perhaps we should stop making films and music and playing football because apparently people who do that also die early. It is not the profession that kills you, it is living!
