Panasonic are due to bring out a new recorder for under ?750 RRP and will record all DVD formats except the now probably new 'betamax' - DVD-RAM.
You can also get a Pioneer A03 DVD Recorder for your PC for under ?380 if you shop around. Add a second HD (60Gb) is enough for another ?100. Buy a firewire card for your Digital Camcorder and a card to import VCR footage. Use bundled software.
And still have some change left over from your ?750 for Blank DVD's (less than ?6 each).
