I partly accept what you say, but I can never support the outright theft of other people's work. If these pirates sold their illegal copies for a price related to their cost (about ?5 each) them maybe. However they extort ?25 or so for what? A poor quality copy onto a blank VHS they buy for under ?1.
NO Don't ever buy from these thieving bastards - buy from overseas where you get a cosher tape with a part of the price going to those you want to produce your next video! By overseas I don't mean the likes of UK suppliers of pirate copies hiding behind a German or Dutch mailing address. These baastards are even worse - they don't even have the Soho shop overheads!

yes agree with you pervy pete, but as David J says the choices of R18 are shite, the cost of putting your video through and getting it classified as R18 is shite, and who pays for that?, the customer, so until the law is changed then the pirates are sometimes the ONLY option.
I personally think that some of the producers here are making as much as some of the bigger producers in the USA, I mean where is the competition?? of course they would have you believe that they are not making anything ... that does not wear, sorry.

Yes the BBFC system is nonsence. They charge about ?800 per hour for viewing a video and issuing a Certificate, or moaning about a parted pube (18 cert). It's even more of a rip-off with 18R as they pass everything that isn't illegal. If it has no-one screwing children or animals, they'll take your cash and give you a certificate.
Also, I think they are operating in contravension of European Law. They are imposing a competative disadvantage to UK baesd mail order operators as European based ones have no such Certification Fees. Shop sales are different as a shop in Holland is not competing with one in UK, but UK mail order operators are trying to compete with European ones with same customer base. IT'S ILLEGAL, but the BBFC have not yet been taken to a European Court over this. It's time someone with deep pockets did take them to court!
