When you assume, you make... You seem to know everything, so I'm sure you can complete the quote.

You don't know what device I'm using, you don't know what platform I'm using, you don't know whether I have systems in place to detect and deal with popups (I do as it happens!)
The point of my warning is that the link leads to a site which is a security risk, because it runs Java applets that could out your device at risk. The warning remains a valid one whether or not some or all visitors have security systems in place. It is a rogue site.
I can't believe that anyone would assume from my warning that I use the Internet without some protection!
