......but he may have met Soft Machine personnel, as they were all part of the Canterbury scene (although not really contemporaneously).

Kevin Ayers also done a song with Syd Barrett Steve, called "Singing a song in the morning" still as yet unreleased, but easily downloadable on music sites

Yes Elton, many years ago, strange film! the other soundtrack's they've done were for the ballet "La Valee" (Obscured by clouds, a great album in my humble opinion!) and a few tracks for the Zabriske Point movie, most notably an alternate version of "Careful with that axe Eugene" retitled "Come in number 51 your time is up!", these can be found on the soundtrack album, not sure if it was ever released on CD though, although a bootleg cd featuring early material "A CD full of secrets! is easily available, also (phew! once I get started...!LOL), a part of Shine on you crazy diamond is used (unofficially) in french porno movie"La marge" during an oral sex scene!
