Re: Eastenders!
Yes Ray without a doubt.
Did you know he got lifted on suspicion of murder in the late 80s. He spent a week in custody before the police let him go. He spoke about it recently in an interview (not a police interview btw lol). He still has no idea why he was arrested in connection with that crime. I think it must have been during his slack period when he was only doing bit parts in Minder as Arnie the mechanic. Great actor though. Even in Minder I thought he was good but he refuses to talk about that part of his career.
BTW I can do that thing that Ray does with his eye. Where the eye goes all screwed. I always thought it was just me until I saw him do it on telly.

Re: Eastenders!
Ben Kingsley's character in Sexy Beast or homicidal maniac Joe Pesci in Goodfellas/Casino? Joe for me on this one, which goes against my stance on poncey yanks, although I will waive Samuel L Jackson through on this as well

Re: Eastenders!
BTW if anyone is wondering. S56 cant post after midnight because his internet cafe closes then. So posts made after 12 will not be disrupted by his ramblings. I forgot to ask him what time it opens in the morning but I bet he is waiting at the door when it opens.

Those cafe's cost a few bob by the hour, anyone guess how much time he spends at them?

Re: Eastenders!
Both were great portrayals of unhinged psychos but I will have to disagree re Pesci even though his performance was very beleivable and scary (the bit when he shot the waiter in the foot was gripping).
I prefered Kingsley in Sexy Beast. His madness was the thing. There was just no way of reasoning with him. His foul language was very amusing I thought. He sits by the pool and says "so this is fucking Spain is it?". His later rant involving the word "cunt-bubble" was funny. But in reality no firm in their right mind would employ someone so unpredictable as that.
PS Did anyone else notice that there was a mistake in Goodfellas. When DiNero gets told of his friends murder and trashes the phone box. If you look carefully to th left of the screen you see the phone box fall over while he is talking to (?the other actor?) and you see them both react slightly to this unexpected occurence. DeNiro evn smirks for a split second. My guess is that the director left it in because the performance was too good to bin.

Re: Eastenders!
Are we talking acting ability or just on screen menace? My answer above will probably still stand. But Pesci must be a close second.

Re: Eastenders!
Two 'unknowns' in Goodfellas were Samuel L Jackson who played 'Stacks' the getaway driver that Pesci shot after 'Stacks' got high and left the car full of dabs, and the waiter who Pesci shot in the foot is Chris the unbalanced boyfriend of Adrienne in The Soprano's.

A lot. He gets a frequent user discount. But then we all spend a bit too much time at our computers.
