Whilst what you say is true and it constantly amazes me when you see kids in the Nort East of England wearing Man U tops ( like there aint no local big teams--Right), please remember that some of us geriatrics stood on the terraces at OT watching second division football in the 70's

I still recall the look on Denis Law's face when he scored the goal for City that relegated United. And no one dared congratulate him.

Don't know if its true ( old age and alchohol have bolloxed my memory) but I think he never kicked a football again professionally after that goal.
