Good points. I recall Private Eye claiming that the show in its early days (and when Vanessa Feltz was in charge) was looked upon as a way to supplement their student loans by those at college and university, and they would mericlessly extract the urine from it while taking appearance money. The programme makers have obviously learned from that, and are now targeting specific groups.

Expecting remorse from such people is, I'm afraid, as unrealistic as expecting tobacco executives and drugs dealers and arms salesmen to have trouble sleeping.

It'd be nice to see cynical, expoitative programmes like this taken off the air, but unless people complain in numbers (or switch off in even greater numbers) that's not going to happen.

This show has pissed me off for so long.
It's partly Trisha with her "Nothing you are going through is that bad, because I've been thru it and I came out in one piece and if I can make it..."
Yeah nice touch Trisha.
It's like she's not sure if she wants to be Oprah, Ricki or Jerry.
Since the introduction of Springer, why are all the Brits walking on stage and going straight to someones face and saying "You better stay away blah blah" thinking its gonna have the same impact as a Springer shot. It doesn't. It looks lame and most of the audience just seem to look away in shame.

But the people that go on the show! Freaks.
Some of the stories are total BS.
"I want to tell my mum to piss off and leave me alone!"
So go ahead and do it, but on TV? Who gives a shit for that?

And why is it when someone is right on the edge and ready to cry their eyes out, do the idiots go up to them and ask how they feel...in depth...tear by tear account.

I remember Kilroy once asked a woman on the subject of rape or date rape, "Do you feel disgusting & worthless?"
Yeah go for the kill Roy. The woman said "No!" but the look on her face was like "Oh shit, is that how you all see me."
A politician turned talk show host? Gimme a break.

Robbie Coltrane has a story about a guy on a Jerry Springer type show where the topic was sexual problems. This guy tells how his marriage broke up and his life was ruined because he was impotent.
"Why don't you go and talk to your doctor about it?"
"I can't, I'm too embarassed".

I have said before on this forum that I detest Trisha and her exploititave show. She really is horrid. I dont know how she can sleep at night knowing that her job causes people more mental anguish than the average burgling toe-rags "job" does. Her show was subject to a few complaints from people who had been duped into going on under false pretences only then to be confronted by some relatives and ripped apart before the screeching audience.

Its not much different to the Romans watching people eaten by lions at the Collusseum.

I dont think Kilroy is quite as bad. His show panders to right wing Daily Mail politics but has an air of semi-respectability while Trisha is just swimming in a human cess pit.
I enjoyed watching Kilroy get punched in the face by an audience member after asking the guy how he felt when his daughter was butchered by a psycho.

There we are. A sensible criticism. And I didnt call either Trisha or Kilroy cunts or slags. Do I get a medal for my restraint?

Quicker way would be to actually extinguish all network garbage. As Alan Partridge said: 'Terrestrial tv is a dead Duck and who watches a dead Duck?' Not even it's Mother, she just flies off depressed'

Todays feature with Trisha was 'Just Married and Cheating Already!!' whilst Kilroy had 'Too Old for Motherhood' so i did the right thing and watched Teletubbies instead. uh-oh

Yeah the antics of Bin La La & Po Pot are well worth a chuckle.
Speaking of chuckles;
The Chuckle Brothers....well loved kiddie icons of mirth and humour?
Or ugly backwards, inbred, kiddy fiddling looking cunts.
