Lame, overrated American comedy which is branded as mature and sophisticated and turns out to be utter shite and the sort of thing we could invent on the train on the way to work...Frasier is the worst of all time.

I think the problem is stuff often starts off as being genuinely good, e.g. the early Only Fools, One Foot, so they get 'rated.' Problem is tv execs realise they're on to a winner so keep churning them out .... to me that's when a lot of them change from being quite rightly rated as good to being over-rated 'cause they live on past glories, (if that makes sense?) It's true that the last couple of series of Only Fools were shite. They come into millions and that's 'supposed' to be an end to it. However, so Mr tv exec can squeeze even more life out of it they make more, with them having lost the money, surprise surprise!

Although some on here have said they didn't like The Royale Family, I did like it. Also, as far as I know they're not making any more, point is it finished when it probably still had a tiny bit of life still in it.

Leave 'em wanting more ......

Dave

IMO that all comedy is good

You can almost guarantee that if you don't find it funny someone else will

I never saw the so called appeal of Ally Mc Beal or Friends but couldn't get enough of Married With Children & Becker

The most overhyped/awarded comedies like Mash & Seinfeld
Are they over rated?...not in my opinion

Is Fawlty Towers over rated when you consider they only did a handfull of shows 9 or 12 i believe?

For mine some comedy formulas are timeless wether short or long lived

terrible.. i feel as though it recieves plaudits due to the ethniticity of the cast. personally i feel that no one could say what rubbish it is withoutbeing accused of not apprecating the "?ultrual humour" it presents and being labeled as racist. the simpsons is truly funny and theyre yellow.. and i agree about fools/horses being poor as hell, its intresting to note that the 80s classics fools and minder were originally very dark and griity and tehn became the parodies that the masses enjoy. Del boy was a vile controlling creature.
