Does anyone remember that stuff which, like the sweet cigarettes, was like tobacco strands and it was in a small, red pack or summat? I absolutely loved the taste and thought i'd never forget it but i have! God i'd love taste it again to find out. Also love(d) the spaceships full of sherbet. Mmmmmmmmmm.

Yeah Sweet Tobacco it was a shreaded fruit that was sugar coated and I agree it was delicious.
Sherbet UFO's mmmm 2 for 1p they were cool, it was always a toss up between them and Fruit Salads or Black Jacks.

Had to stomache some in 1980...cardboard was more nutritious and it certainly tasted better

I remember Bazooka Bubblegum and Fizzbombs and Jawbreakers which made your mouth go red for days. What was that bubblegum that tasted of Germaline called it always came with a free transfer of a yellow smiley face which you had to lick and stick on your arm?


You can still get Vesta Curries but you have to search for them. I think I saw some about 18 months ago in a supermarket. Of course there are more tasty varieties of ready curries available now from the fridge section which have undoubtedly contributed to the scarcity of ye olde Vesta.

I remember these crazed bastards in 1970 when I was 8. I really wanted one of those cool beach buggies featured at the start.

I loved the American imported comics that were so fantastic compared to Beano etc. The ads were a favorite of mine especially the cool jokes and gags you could buy like fake snot, sneezing powder etc. There was no-where in Blighty you could get that. When we emigrated to Hong Kong, these were available and I remember buying tons of it, to discover, it WAS shit stuff. Sneezing Powder was pepper, fake snot was coloured glass etc. Hmmm, maybe because of the Americans' selling me a hopeless dream caused my resentment to them many years later.

You could by sweets that looked like ciggs, who thought that letting kids go around with sweets pretenting to smoke was good. Bet you can't get them to day!
