lets be honest, both Celtic and Rangers are shit. The UEFA Cup is shit to- full of 3rd and 4th place clubs who got knocked out of the Champions "weague" (fergie speak!) because they shouldnt have been there to begin with.

The Champions League is shit to. Man Utd leathered Juventus twice, but now Juventus are in the final. It should be like it used to be- a knockout competition featuring ONLY the champions of each country.

And now, my team Man City are going to be in the UEFA Cup because they didnt have the bollocks to boot anyone!! Fuckin mental.

Imagine City in europe.

Hi

I apologise for my use of language on this thread, out of order and due to too much alchohol having been consumed on Wednesday, have just about sobered up and am extremely embarrased when I read what I had written.

Apart from that I hope Celtic win the league on Sunday, and yes I am a very proud Scottish supporter.

You could look at it this way, a Jock team reached the final and apart from that being an event(I am NOT being sarcastic) it is something to be proud of- forget the result -and aftermatch diagnosis, good on The Bhoys.

I am ever slo influenced by the fact that my my senior partner is the Rt.Hon J.Walker, esq.

To be honest the whole game worldwide pisses me off to the point that I don't really care any more. For example when x amount of fans cause trouble you hear on the sport section of the news or a sport programme '...which could mean the game being played behind closed doors with no fans.' It's soooooo f*cking obvious this just isn't going to happen 99% of the time.

A player does something seriously wrong either on or off pitch, manager says on tv 'we treat this kind if thing very seriously, player whoever will be dealt with accordingly.' Result? Oh maybe a ?5000 fine or a 2 game ban. Really effective when the guy's probably on ?12'000+ per week and could do with the rest to go shagging anyway!

Players taking obvious dives then putting in the oscar winning performance. MMmmmm, strange how they're up and okay 20 f*cking seconds later ...... and ALL teams are guilty of that stuff to some extent.

The whole thing's predictable when something wrong is done. No serious action will be taken, so boring. It's the way the game as a whole has developed over the years and it's getting worse.

I stayed out of this thread due to the sectarianist biggotry that was starting to creep into it.

I have seen first hand the damage that this stupid protestant/catholic hatred causes.

Football fans around the UK may think its just team rivalry but its not is it? It runs much deeper as anyone from Glasgow or indeed Belfast will tell you.

Thankfully the hatred between protestants and catholics is dying out in areas like Tyneside and Merseyside but it seems to be alive and well in Glasgae.

No comment on whether I am green or blue.

I've got dark skin and I remember going to a match when I was younger with one of my uncles. I had the team colours on. A group of 'fellow supporters' were walking towards us and they started singing (so you'll have to imagine the tune!) 'oh we hate paki's and we hate paki's .... we hate paki's and we hate paki's .... etc etc'

Great song to sing 'at' a 12 year old boy or whatever I was.

It's like Celtic / Rangers coming out with all this crap about stamping out sectarianism ..... aye right! Going to get really tough on the fans are you? Going to invest some cash in an elaborate camera system .... home in on the chanters .... chuck them out ..... life ban. Okay there'll be a token supporter banned now and again, but just as I'm saying about players getting away with everything, so do supporters to an extent as the clubs have to find that fine line between being tough and being as strict as they should be. If they're as strict as they should be they could alienate too many so called supporters .... that would mean losing cash and we can't have that, can we.

All crap, the lot of it. It's true what some people say, at the end of the day it's a bunch of guys getting paid stupid amounts of cash to kick a ball around a bit of grass ..... treated like gods, most of em are so thick they believe the hype and act like f*ckin gods.

Dave,

I agree. That tale you told regarding when you were a kid is shocking. Grown men hurling racist abuse at other grown men is bad enough but to aim it at a child is disgusting.

I was pissed off when those Leeds Utd wankers got a slap on the wrist after they beat that Asian lad up. The jury were only told after the verdict that one of the players/defendants/overpaid racist shitbags had been arrested the year before fore racially abusing a member of staff in McDonalds. These fuckers are getting paid more money per week at age 21 than most of us can earn in a lifetime of hard work. My yearly salary works out at about half a days pay for these immature spoilt young thugs who have the nerve to call themselves professionals. A couple of years in the army would sort them out. They would be crying for their mothers after a week in basic training. Arseholes.

But racism in football supporters can only be defeated if cunts like the guys I am alluding to get sacked.

Newcastle has just taken one of the "paki bashers" on and the fans are quite rightly disgusted. But money takes precedence over morals in football. Newcastle United used to have a very racist crowd in the 70s when they would make monkey noises at black players and throw bananas onto the pitch. Nowadays that sort of behaviour is unheard of at St James Park. Might change now that they have a violent racist on the team.

I hate racism, I really do, and after living in Hong Kong and Bermuda and now working along Nepalese, there is NO excuse for us not to live in harmony, BUT what I hate more than racism is when somebody plays the 'race card' and uses it to crucify an 'innocent' person.
It is well known that Woodgate and Bowyer gave an Indian lad a spanking, but its been widely reported and proven in court it was a beating against another bloke and not a racist attatck. If it was a racist attack, no matter how talented(?) these thugs are, the FA would have suspended them for life.
It is well known this lad used the colour of his skin to portray a racist attack by 2 known footballers, and after selling the story, the original trial collapsed, but a re-trial was necassery to be 100% sure.
There is no doubting Bowyer is probably more racist than most, but I doubt Woodgate is, as he is already welcomed at Newcastle, but I think Bowyer will suffer at Newcastle.
Racism is wrong, but using the colour of your skin against someone is equally wrong.
