It should have been phrased with a soupcon of irony. Guns are REALLY great. Everyone should own one, just in case another member of the family wants to shoot you.

Much better.
Having just shot 6 irritatingly-honking motorists, 4 foul-mouthed kids, half the rush-hour population of the District Line, and finally my better half (saving the best for last....), I can categorically state that having a gun solves ALL your problems in one fell swoop..
