Dave gillmore is a great guitarist for floyd but some of the above brian
may, steve vai people like that they are just showmen someone like
jimmy page can play any style without having to show off same with
jeff beck both truly great session guitarists from the early 60s.

I agree Paul, Pagey is a superb all rounder, the new Led Zep live CD is fantastic, as is the double live DVD,

must admit though i saw dave gilmore at earls court in 1980 i think when
they did the wall there was another guitarist with floyd that night snowy
white he was also very good.

The late Randy Rhoads, the equally late Randy California, plus the likes of Jason Becker, Marty Friedmann, Tony McAlpine and Nuno Bettencort must all feature.
Has anyone ever heard Stuart Hamm play bass? He can do more with 4 strings than 2 guys can with six.

Yes Paul I agree. Snowy toured with Waters recently, on the IN THE FLESH live DVD he does a blistering solo on Comfortably Numb with Doyle Bramhall III

Gary Moore,
Tom Morello(audioslave formerly rage againest the machine),
Tony Iommi(Black Sabath),
Kerry King(slayer),
Apart from these I'd have to agree with
Jimi Hendrix,Steve Vai,Eric Clapton,Dave Gilmour,Randy Rhodes,Jimmy Page
Oh not forgeting Richie Sambora ha ha just kidding jovi Suck!

In 1958 an instrumental track called "Rumble" was released by somebody by the name of Link Wray. If you get chance give it a whirl.

Yep damn straight Just, forgot all about Gary Moore, BLUES ALIVE being the first live album I ever bought! (showing my age here!) kin, fant tastic, I did'nt include it as I forgot I had it! une stella artois its your fault!
