Yeah...the DAA were certainly cutting edge..think they had a bigger following in England than here
I think they were originally launched on the Big Gig which really was a standout live comedy show. The talent on display was awesome
Glyn Nicholas being the standout and of course DAA when they appeared
Can't say many of their lyrics really stuck but certsinly got my attention at the time
Good News Week bit the dust a while back...had a pretty good run for that type of show....like everything on TV....life expectancy is short
A similar format went to larger auditoriums which places like Melbourne & Sydney put on when there was a comedy festival.Paul was usually either the compare or a Celebrity debator
Happens far to rarely
The OZ comedians coming through just don't cut it for mine
cheers

Re: O/T Deuce
They were pretty big in the underground scene for some time over in the UK. Sell out shows usually.
They did do some TV as well.
Mark Thomas used to host a show and they were regulars on there.
Mexican Hitler has to be my favourite track.
They did a New Years show on BBC2 but I missed it. Caught the tail end of their rendition of Heard It Thru The Grapevine.
Stunning vocals from Paul.
Ah well, perhaps I'll get lucky and find some old stuff on eBay along with the hunt for elusive INXS stuff.

Re: O/T Deuce
This link somes them up pretty well
Pauls always had a huge voice...his rendition of Hunters & Collectors
Throw Your Arms Around Me was always a crowd pleaser anywhere
Mexican Hitler is pretty confonting
and as usual Richard Fidler got canned just as he was starting...lol
Don't like your chances of scoring anything decent on ebay
I put it down to their years in the Edinburgh festival
People that attend festivals seem to be the avid collecting types
cheers

Re: O/T Deuce
Cheers for the link bro. Nice one.
Found a few bits & pieces on eBay this morning.
Unfortunately, I've just done a major shop on eBay & have to slow the mass spending spree down.
Richard had a thing about singing the Wombles theme every now & then.
Strange!

I,m deeply disturbed by your news Magoo, I had though at the least he was dead, now your telling me I might hear or see him!!!, I,m preparing a large dose of barbiturate as we speak...he might even try to revive his 'career' lets all pray for a short sighted air traffic controller to slip up.

Living or dead ....... fact !

I tend to agree: the only man who makes Mike Read look less pompous.
But why do people devote websites to their hatred of turds like this? Isn't it better to ignore these wankers and go and do something more enjoyable, like having root-canal?

......perhaps we could get him a job as a Government adviser.
That's make short work of him.
