Regardless of anyone's opinion of her, the fact remains that she was THE sex-symbol of her day.
As for conspiracy theories, it was a well-known fact in certain circles that JFK was a complete cock-hound and passed her onto his brother and the pair of them involved her with Sam Giancana (who just incidentally rigged the Chicago/Illinois vote that had JFK elected by such a tiny margin) as a deal with is old bootlegger associate, Joe Kennedy.
MM became a liability after they fucked her about mentally and with drugs/booze and left alive she would have spilled several sacks of beans to the detriment of all.

Always thought that Brigette Bardot in her younger days was a very attrative young woman. Too many years of strong sunshine in the South of France seems to have taken their toll on her though!

Yes but how many people would actually equate those to Marilyn Monroe apart from her signature pose over the grate?
She might be alive and in the fore front of people making films but I doubt it very much that can be said for your ordinary punter
I agree she was the Goddess of the day back then and as an Icon she is unmatched...wether thats because of her beauty or her life story is for others to judge
