They were the originals and as such deserve all the credit

Belinda Carlisle was the only one to makre it big time-leave a light on for me
Probably a better song than any of the Go Go S IMHO....it showed her voice at its best

cheers

As reported in the press, Jules' Mad World was only released due to recent massive public demand. I think J. Ross was the first to play it, then others followed. Radio I were bombarded with calls each time it aired, apparently.

And it's Stipe, not Stype.

i agree. he doesn't sound like a professional singer and he there's something annoying about his face, can't put my finger on it, maybe its the stupid hat he wears or maybe its just the lifeless expression he has on his face while staring into the camera all the bloody time.

a truly awful xmas no.1. No doubt the festive suicide rate will be on the up this year, I hope we never hear from this guy again.

There's only one number one this christmas as far as i'm concerned.

I heard this as Mark and Lard played it on its premier on Radio 1 in november, I honestly thought it was Michael Stipe at the time.
Gary Jules is a one-hit wonder, of that Im sure, but it is a good 'un.
As regards 'image', he should drop the silly 'Gibert O'Sullivan' cap
