Only about Burgess, Steve---An Englishman Abroad, also starring Cora Browne (RIP) and directed by the recently-departed John Sccchleszssinger. Written by the (thankfully still with us) wonderful Alan Bennet, based on a true life experience for Browne in the early 1960s when she ran into Burgess in Russia.

just read he lost his wife and son in a space of 2 years thats sad.

Superb actor. Not many can claim to have been as good in so many film, stage and tv productions. We saw him at Stratford in 'Antony and Cleopatra' in 1999 and he was just as I imagined a washed-up, booze-riddled Antony may have been, waiting for his death.

First time I saw Alan in anything must of been 'Whistle Down The Wind' along side a very young Hayley Mills.
