Minor nit-pick Bimmercat. Does anybody know what the "Southern accent" would have sounded like 150 years ago?

I have another question for you Bimmercat. What is the correct name for citizens of the US?
"Americans" seems inappropriate since it could be applied to anyone from the continent: Canadians, Mexicans etc. "Yanks" is both slang and also has the implied N. vs. S. of the Civil War.

Arnold,
A decent movie to look out for when it hits the cinema's over here is a movie called "Mindhunters".
It's a cracking movie with Val Kilmer, it's a little bit like Friday The 13th meets Silence Of The Lamb's.
FBI Agents get bumped off one by one, i know similar story lines have been done before but this one is O.K.

Obviously undeserving of its own thread, I half snoozed through this yesterday. Yet another mature, tasteful, sophisticated confection of the American Beauty/Brilliant Mind ilk; the cine equivalent of those aerosol sprays that offer you the scent of a delicious meal you're not actually having. Still, if that's what the modern sophisticated audience want...
(The Michael Jackson joke in the Scary Movie 3 trailer was, however, hysterical).
