Mr Toad was a calumny on all the honest, hard-working upstanding bufonids who support our local ecology so enthusiastically.
Frogs, now, they're right dodgy bastards, the slimy green croaky gangly-legged gits: but not yer honest working-toads, salt of the earth they are.
