Maybe he did, but if you had a transplant, no matter how you got it! is it not the case that you can do what you want with your life, including drinking, shagging, white water rafting, smoking, or do you just stay in and become a monk.............

Shagging and white water rafting are what i would WANT someone who had been given a second chance to do! Anything real rather than the kind of fake and fatal "pleasures" of drink and smoking....I just think its wholly disrespectful to the person who's organ you had received, I mean imagine it was your organ being used after your death except the person its given to is continuing on the lifestyle that caused their original organ to stop functioning properly - its just plain rude!
As for death I didnt mean he should be executed I just dont feel he deserves a second chance because he has fucked it up...having said that people deserve a second chance so that ones a bit of a catch22. Still think he's a twat for letting something like that ruin his life surely in a sober moment he could've weighed things up.

I used to think he was some kinda god but now I just think he's a complete idiot who should just fade away and leave us with all those wonderful memories of his footie moments ( and this comes from a City supporter ).

no, no one can do entirely what they want with their lives!
Forgetting about the transplant issue for a sec, what about the people around alcoholics like Best you are constantly hurt (both physically and mentally) and abused by them? You've only got to listen to Alex Best's story to see how much damage Best has caused, not just to himself.
In my experiences alcoholics are usually very selfish people (and i'm speaking from first hand experiences here), they only care about themselves and their next drink, the claim they have a disease that they can do nothing about, which is rubbish, their only weakness is their greed. meanwhile its the people close to them that are actually suffering the most.
