Well, i think that proves my point?.
To resort to name calling in whatever pretext shows you are not only very immature, but more importantly not really bothered about listening to others.
The previous crime/crimes this guy committed were all sexual, the final one which he was given his life sentence for was on a girl under 10 years of age. But you do not need to know facts like that. All your worried about is the rights of the prisoner and our perceived standing within the world and Amensty International. So what if we are on their list of countries who do not adhere to Human Rights Law? i'm more interested in looking after the vulnerable members of society, like all those people who this THING molested and raped. But you do not want to know that.
So hopefully one day people will get fed up with the likes of you and really make an effort to stop this scum after the first offence.
Life should me life, not out on licence.

Er, how, exactly? Assuming all first offenders are potential repeat offenders, of course.

Well Said Bimmercat,
Unfortunately there are a people in the U.K. that still believe that Criminals get a rough deal under U.K. Law. If TLW was to read my posts in the context of the thread i am speaking about REPEAT OFFENDERS!!! i.e the M25 Rapist.
As people posting on this subject have showed they are more interested in the rights of the Criminal than that of the Victim?.
Many seemingly think the police like arresting and potentially re-arresting people on never ending basis. These same people want human Rights upheld but at the same time feel it acceptable to let the Hardcore Criminal back out after a certain period of time. I think they would be the first on the phone to the police if they were Burgled, Assaulted, or had property stolen. But the exact same people WOULD NOT BE OUTRAGED to find that these people have done it before. What is worrying is the fact that they would be willing to fore go the safety of family friends and loved ones based on persistent offenders human rights.
Personally i do not care how Amnesty International views the U.K. and furthermore i think being in the E.U. has been a catastrophe anyway.
People like Magoo and The Last Word probably do not realise that Everyone should know the difference between Right and Wrong and the sooner people who commit serious offences time after time realise they will get severely punished, the better life will be for the Law Abiding people of the United Kingdom.

Sorry, Nobby, you've got it arse over tit. Your line 'really make an effort to stop this scum after the first offence' concerns first offenders, regardless of who this 'scum' actually is. And like I said - how?

Amongst other things, Amnesty International are concerned with the fair treatment of criminals with regards to their human rights. Nothing more. Where on earth did you get this 'favour criminal rights over victim's rights' nonsense from? Reactionary garbage of a questionable agenda. Nothing more.
Yes, I would certainly think differently if I'd been invovled with the crime in the manner you portray. But that would be a subjective, emotively-driven response - vengeance-fuelled even - and possibly not something that benefited from the greater, long-term insight objectivity can give us. To create a mandate applicable to all from the subjective would be foolish in its presumptions concerning the subjectivity of others, for a start. Only through the objective can we all (hopefully) agree.
Sympathy is one thing. Understanding another

O.K. i see what you mean,
What is meant is that for a "Serious Offence" like that of Rape, Murder, Paedophilia, and such like the sentece handed down should be the sentence served.
I feel that the Judiciary may seem to give a heavier sentence for serious crimes, however in reality unless the criminal is disruptive in prison they will serve no where near the term handed down originally.
This is where i feel the criminal is laughing in the face of justice. Bearing in mind the victim has to live with the events, surely the criminal should do the prsecribed sentence?.
People wounder why police morale is low?, can you blame them when a judge (who has 24hour security) decides whether a Rapist (for example) gets released early.
