In the good old days of full employment, the local firms used to actually come to the school and set up stalls in the hall, a sort of "come and work for us" day, as there were usually more vacancies than school leavers.

Anyway, to assist these local firms, the school (or LEA) devised a simple test so that the kids had some sort of grading to be assesesed on. This was forever known as the "Stupid test" as it contained challenging questions such as,

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9

What is the first number? What is the last number? What is the middle number?

One answer, and I still can't decide if he was very stupid or very clever, to the question;

apple, orange, banana, spanner.

Which is the odd one out & why?

Gave the answer "orange, because its a colour"
We have need of you again, great king.

Hmmm sounds like i topic i've done alot of lately and you are right they do ask stupid questions, but before we went on holiday recently i did fill in an application form for a job online maybe this might be what the future may hold.

No more hold ups with our fucked up postal service sending you application form to wrong address or those automated phone lines that you have to spell difficult words to and still get your address wrong.

Online application forms sound like a good idea but how to you show the social you applied for it if you don't have access to a printer?
