Actually Dogs was a blatant rip-off & remake of Ringo Lam's Hong Kong opus City On Fire.
Some bits are stolen scene for scene including the dialogue.
That pointed chinned wanker should have given respect where it was due and credited Ringo as the writer.

The Mr 'colour names' were a BLATANT rip off from the characters in the VERY underestimated 70's film with Robert Shaw; 'The Taking of Pelham 123' where the characters were based on colours like in Res. Dogs.
I urge you to see this EXCELLENT film, and NOT the remake which went straight to video (and rightfully so)

Well it was the blatant rip off of the main story and not the colours that got me.
I have seen Pelham as it goes. Many years back.

Brilliant film. Walter Matthau is superb.

First thing I thought of when I watched the overrated pile of junk that is Tarantino's film. I also watched Pulp Fiction on the telly and thought it was outrageously dull. In amongst all the pseudo-hip/banal 'dialogue', there seemed irrational explosions of meaningless and gratuitous violence.

I'm sure he's hip and trendy but I agree with jj ; the emperor has no clothes. I must be getting very old.

Says it all, really- rip-off, with Extra Added Gore, masquearding as post-ironic social commentary.
Sort of thing that would get you a grade 'C' in the average film-school.
Or expulsion, in a better one.
