Given his accuracy, I for one am glad he didn't take the "sawn-off shooter for a bank robbery" career route.

Good point, though, Heathray---the GBP tend to vote the unassuming (some might say personality vacuums) sports people as their favourites---Mansell, Davies, Shearer, Wilkinson---but much prefer watching the naturally talented but almost self-destructive types (Best, Higgins come to mind).

18-8 is a bit of a thrashing for dott. nevermind though at least it isnt like boring f1 when you get the same winner every time

We have this in all mediums though - the whole romance of watching in awe as they scale the heights, then watching in awe as they tumble from them. Hell for them, tremendous entertainment for us. You can't lose - as they lose the lot.

But that's the rub- they often don't.
That cheating little swine Maradona has lost only what little dignity he ever had, while still basking in the uncritical adulation of morons across the globe and coining it mega, merely for showing his ugly little kisser.

As I've said before, I don't expect 'celebs' to be role-models, but I do require them to behave like halfway decent human beans- a condition a lot of them can't even manage to approach.
