They toured Adelaide followed by those upper upstrts Racey?

My old man was a bouncer at the time and said both bands had to be led by the hand to their instruments because they were so pickled

Thank god for miming?

Give me Del Amitri or Simple Minds anyday

cheers

I recall a joke from my childhood, about a Bay City Roller sobbing away just before the start of a concert.

"What's up, son?" his manager asked.

"A string on my guitar's broken---and they won't tell me which one."

I don't recall Racey at all---the name, yes, but nothing else. There was another group from the same stable which one week was playing a church hall near me, the next was at number one---Slik, with lead singer Midge Ure. Absolutely dire!

Lucky you if you can't recall Racey

Typical seventies pop written by some real pros..according to this site

they were nothing but a vehicle for some slick music writers as their own material ended up on the b-side of the singles

Midge ure was all over the shop looking at his band history

I got suckered into buying 1 Ultravox tape...never again....theres boring then theres ultravox

cheers

How strange....I had a rabbit dressed in tartan

To this day I've thought of it as the symbol of shortbread..I love shortbread

Thank god you didn't mention The Proclaimers(far worse than BCR or R )

Goggled eyed(god fearing virgin) scots that can sing in key(its just not right)

cheers

Del Amitiri made some of the best songs I've ever heard if you think that raw emotion & sentiment are good things

Maybe not as big as Matchbox 20 but certainly more memorable

Just like Hot House Flowers they were Unique IMHO(thats number 984?-I'm sure one of the Mods is counting :)

Only about 5/10 top tens in Australia Del Amitri but Oz has never been a place to make it big

cheers

Anyone south of the Antonine Wall stupid enough to wear tartan (and a lot north thereof) deserved everything they got.
