OK, I received no letter from Customs. Gamelink e-mailed me to tell me my package had been returned (not seized, sorry) by customs and they quoted the reason customs gave as "pornographic content" and told me I could either (a) repay the postage costs and they'd send it again, or (b) forget about it and they'd just keep the stuff. Maybe what they said was true - I don't know. Do customs return stuff rather than seize it? If they return do they have to write to you (as I said, I received nothing from customs) or do they leave that to the person you ordered off? I just felt what Gamelink were doing was akin to blackmail - send us another 20 dollars post and packing if you want your DVDs. Their e-mail looked to have been written by a semi-literate junior staff member and came from a personal e-mail address (ie a first name @ gamelink rather than a more official looking orders or customer service type address). The package was resent without any extra charges after I complained angrily, and came through fine later that week. As a result of these events, I have never ordered stuff from outside the UK since. Were they trying to defraud me? I don't know. Those are the facts. You decide.

It was only 12 hours really. I must stop exagerating. It was still quite unpleasant. I cant sue because I was also done for breach of the peace ie shouting at a policeman and being a prat. So they would say it was justified for that reason. The porn thing was a side issue.

There's that maths problem again, considered night school.

12 hours and only pigs for company would have driven anybody to put on a performance Moaning minnie would have been proud of.

They're bullshitting you. C&E do not return stuff, they either pass it or confiscate. If they confiscate, they're legally obliged to inform you.
The only instance in which I can imagine an item might be returned is if it got damaged and sent to 'Broken Packets' in a Sorting Office. The PO might then deem the content to be an infringement of Regs, and RTS.....not very likely, though. I've received several such, re-sealed (or not!!), and possibly a couple have vanished into postie's private collection. Never had one returned to sender.
Most US companies are straight: Excalibur have a good reputation (not with me though!), Jaded are great, as are a few others.
Don't let one bunch of arseholes discourage you.

No excuse...

I just realised how much of a prat the last post made me look but even so i cannot disagree with the essence of it - you get decent hardcore DVDs in Soho for 10 to 15 quid a pop why would you order from the states? I used to, not any more... Give me a reason to, Mr JJ...
