Whats' all this 'agreement that he won it fair and square'?

Of course he did, it's a lottery. And even idiots can win them.

One of the last English bastions of true democracy.
All you have to do is buy a ticket.

Of course, with those intelligence-insultingly long odds it's a permanent Bismarck, but....

Giving money to the forces of darkness (Scottish branch) didn't help.

Back in the bad old days of the pools, the big jackpots always seemed to be won by some doddery old git whose plans amounted to buying a new flat cap, a caravan, three new racing pigeons, and a packet of Jaffa Cakes. What a waste!

I remember a few years back some woman won 7million on the lottery.

She was a cleaner in Woolies but after she won came out with the classic line 'I don't want the money to change me' and said she wasn't going to give up her job.

Why do these people do the lottery?

Here in yankland, a few months back some old guy from deepest Virgina won over $100million. When asked what the first thing he was going to buy was he replied, "a lottery ticket for next week". And he wasn't joking.

Why do people enter lotteries

Maybe to guarantee themselves choice in the rat race through financial freedom and get that feel good factor of playing the benelovent friend

The fact that people have said they aren't going to quit their jobs proves to me that Work isn't about just earning MONEY to everybody which seems to be a common assumption

Leading a life of luxury with no responsibility isn't everybodies idea of Nirvana...believe it or not

I know a family that had never had any money and when they won AUS10,500,000 and it brought no end of problems purely over who they gave money & items to.

The feuds are still going today

cheers
