Mags are the biggest pain probably why i threw mine into the bin five years ago.Vids are a damn sight harder to dismiss softcore goes first.

A sad day but i haven't lost any sleep over it.

When any of my collections start getting to big i either give to friends that i know are going to hold onto it or I just take the point of view that i've had this for five years and put it in the nearest save the childrens box.

I recently had a bad experience where i was Craving Led Zeppelin's Rock n Roll or Black Dog,having parted with the double cd through stupidity I had a single by Robert Plant The Log to fall back on-never again.Even Deep Purple"s In Rock-Speed King couldn't soove my deep distress in releasing a classic cd,Double cd.The upside is my good mate still has it and now every firaday the middle class neigbours rejoice to the sounds of Led Zepellin while watcing Roxanne Hall on the big screen tv-I haven't got any curtains due to painting-waiting for the pigs-just for a laugh

I guess it's not the size of the collection that counts, it's what you do with it. JJ and his collection of 4000 is really something to think about. To feed a habit like that I guess you'd have to be out all night, mugging little old ladies. Just kidding!
What I find interesting is that the main thread seems to be that you either watch masses of free porn (like Old does) or you somehow get the wherewithal to buy the stuff, and stack it, and log it, so that, according to the mood of the moment, you can watch what you want, where you want and when you want.
Anybody want some Super8 loops, one really careful owner?

You realise that, if someone has has an industrial estate they want filling, between us we probably have the porn equivalent of the British Museum and Library.

What intrigues me more is why some keep the stuff they don't like. As I watch more and more porn, so the amount of it I actually enjoy decreases. Something that would excite me a few years ago sometimes isn't sufficient now just on it's own.

Which is why my porn collection is tiny (a couple of dozen DVD's and a few dozen tapes - no mags). If I'd kept everything I'd watched I'd be in triple figures easily, but I just make sure the stuff I do have is the highest quality.

The girls I live with are quite comfortable with my porn watching, but I can't increase my collection properly until I get a place of my own and/or stop being a student and start making some serious(er) money.

Regards viewing habits, I have about 40 four hour video tapes full of the stuff on TVX and TAC that I've enjoyed on and off since the late nineties and when I've had enough of sitting at my computer (ie I don't want to enjoy a downloaded movie/clip or DVD) then I'll likely grab one of them at random and the rest is history. I rarely watch hardcore VHS for some unexplainable reason. At my desk I'll put in a DVD (current favourite 'Buttwoman 200' and 'Gang Bang Angels 3 (Sabrina Johnson)' ) or go looking for new stuff to download. Occasionally I'll venture into the chatrooms but rarely.

Are you still there? You sad fool. I've even managed to bore myself with this post.

Having been out all day, I've missed all this. Flett - please return to this forum frequently, 'coz this discussion is one of the best for a long time! I suppose we are all collectors really. A good porn film/mag/photoset tends not to become just another consumer disposable, particularly if you, like myself, will have favourite models or subjects, and will actively look for them when, ahem, shopping. Although I thought I had a lot, compared to jj and the rest, I think I'm only a beginner!.... a couple of hundred mags, some going back 15 years or more (favourite models), and I suppose no more than 70 -100 tapes. I do tend to have a continuous editing policy though, where anything miscellaneous that has lost its' appeal gets binned. So although I've been actively collecting for over 20 years, in total what I've retained is very small. As far as watching/reading is concerned, well one does have certain, er, urges to satisfy from time to time!, and anyway, hairy hands are perfectly normal.

i reckon i have about 1000 vhs tapes, but maybe about 4000 films!
and it really difficult to reduce the number.

i bought a twin deck video player about 5 yrs ago and built up my collecton from hiring out xxx tapes out for the night and copying them. i reckon i`m on twenty new films per month

the video shop was getting stuff from satelite like Ultra Blue,rdv,filmnet, tv1000, etc so you`d think i could speak french, german and swedish by now

fortunately i can compile my own compilations eg a Nina Hartley tape, or a fav bj tape and i`ve got most catalogued on a little database

however vhs are taking over and i`ll be looking to get a dvd writer and transfer them onto dvd long term with a suitable capture equipment

i have started to collect dvd and store them out of their boxes in a mass storage box that hold a 100 or so it scares me though when i think of how much money i have spent

All that porn must have gone down well with the kiddywinks.....
...I mean to dump the stuff that no longer satisfies my areas of interest: namely, keep the E Euro/French/Brit stuff and dump the Yanks, hopefully by about a third.
